Mapo hair salon root touch-up and thinning cut: JUNO Hair Sangam DMC

I recently visited JUNO Hair Sangam DMC! It had been way too long since my last root touch-up, and it was really bothering me,, but thanks to Designer Taeyeon I came out with super clean hair!!

I'm growing my hair out from a bob and was worried about how to survive the awkward in-between stage, so she kept the length but tidied everything up with a cut — I'm super super satisfied with Designer Taeyeon and wanted to leave this review :)

In a relaxed atmosphere she kindly consulted with me about the style I wanted, and took great care from the shampoo to the blow-dry, super thorough and detailed! Next time I dye my hair I want to go back to Designer Taeyeon~!

Where is JUNO Hair Sangam DMC? Hours and parking

JUNO Hair Sangam DMC is located at 9 World Cup buk-ro 56-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea, on the 1st floor of the Woori Technology Building. It's open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, and parking is available at the building's underground lot — the entrance is on the left when facing the 7-Eleven convenience store.

JUNO Hair is on the 1st floor of the Woori Technology Building in Sangam-dong! The shop is big, so you can see it right away from the ground floor. I think this was my first time at a JUNO Hair, and the space was so clean and spacious it felt really comfortable!

I visited on a weekday evening after work. There were still a lot of people getting their hair done even in the evening ㅠㅠ If you want to avoid waiting, I'd recommend booking ahead through Naver!

Why the consultation led to a root touch-up instead of a full dye

At JUNO Hair Sangam DMC, they started with a consultation before the service. They even prepared some snacks before the consultation :)

First, I was torn between doing a full dye or just redoing the roots, so we talked it through. Designer Taeyeon listened carefully to what I was worried about, and since it's still summer, recommended keeping the brighter tone!

Even though it's a short bob, I hadn't been to the salon in 3 months and my hair had gotten so messy. The root touch-up was really overdue.

It looked even worse from above.! ㅠㅠㅠ I kept putting it off and this is what happened.. Please get your roots touched up before it gets this bad..

Growing out a bob: keeping the length, thinning the bulk

Since my bob had reached an awkward length, she asked if I wanted a cut too. When I told her I was growing my hair out, she said she'd just tidy it up while keeping the length! Since my hair is on the thicker side, I asked her to thin it out a lot :)

How the root color was applied and how the scalp was protected

First, the root touch-up! She was so thorough about protecting my scalp from the start haha. I've been keeping dyed hair for a while now so I was worried about damage, but she was careful with the coloring so it wouldn't hurt my hair! This was my first time getting a service from Designer Taeyeon and I was so so touched.

She was careful to make sure the new color wouldn't clash with the existing dyed sections, so I could really trust her with it!

Finished off with a shampoo! I think this was honestly the most comfortable shampoo I've ever gotten! Designer Taeyeon, whom I really want to visit again ㅠㅠ Some people who do shampoos can be rough or hurt your scalp, but this was truly comfortable haha.

She was thorough all the way to the finishing touches :)

Root touch-up and cut finished: does the old dye line show?

Here's the look after the cut was done! She made it so natural that you couldn't tell at all that it was a root touch-up. It felt like I'd gotten a completely fresh dye job haha.

She was careful with the inner layers too, so there wasn't a single spot where the color didn't blend! At other places, root touch-ups sometimes looked unnatural and left me unsatisfied, but with Designer Taeyeon I was super super satisfied!

She also did the cut, and just as I asked, she thinned it out neatly without changing the length haha.

Designer Taeyeon gave me a beautiful hairstyle in such a comfortable atmosphere! If you're getting a dye job or a cut at JUNO Hair Sangam DMC, I highly recommend her :) Would revisit x 10000!!
