Where is Damiseon at Gangnam Station?

Damiseon Gangnam Station Branch (다미선) is a sashimi restaurant on the first basement floor of 365 Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, Seoul (Daewoo D-City Ebit Building 1). Come out of Gangnam Station Exit 5 on the Shinbundang Line, go into the passage where you see a pharmacy, and Damiseon is right there on the left! Hours are Mon–Fri 11:20–23:30 and Sat 11:30–23:00, closed Sundays, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00.

A drinking night with friends I haven't seen in ages!!! Damiseon is already a famous office dinner spot for workers around Gangnam Station, and its sashimi sets are known for good quality, so that's where I went.

Damiseon is in the basement, so let's head down the stairs~~~ Besides the main live-fish sashimi, there are skewers, karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken), abalone and croaker soup and lots of other drinking snacks, so my heart is already pounding... I'm so excited.

What are the inside and seating like at Damiseon?

Inside Damiseon there are several tables, and on one side every seat has a partition so you can sit in private. I got there a bit early, around 6 PM, and right after 6, when office workers usually clock out, the place filled up with customers wow wow wow.

The partitioned seats made it extra cozy!!! I had booked ahead on Naver, so I'll sit in this section. Hoit!

Damiseon menu and prices: what to order for 3 people?

Let's start by browsing the Damiseon menu. There were three of us, and one friend was getting off work late, so we first ordered the small Basic Table (기본한상 소, ₩80,000) and planned to add more once she arrived!

The owner was warm and kind, and the table already had beer glasses, soju glasses, water glasses, soy sauce dishes and everything else you need for sashimi, so it was super convenient!!! No wonder office workers near Gangnam Station pick Damiseon for company dinners.

What comes in Damiseon's ₩80,000 small Basic Table set?

The small Basic Table at Damiseon comes with corn salad, cabbage salad and aged kimchi as side dishes, plus clam soup as a starter. The main is live-fish sashimi served with octopus, marinated shrimp, sea squirt, sea cucumber and conch.

Hahahaha it's a Friday drink, but I can already tell I'm going to drink way too much tonight, so I'm taking a hangover remedy in advance, , ,

Wow, a clear, refreshing clam soup comes as a starter too! 🐚 You can scoop it up and get your hangover cure going right away, easy...^^!

This is the small Basic Table set (₩80,000) at Damiseon. How is an ₩80,000 set this generous!!!!!!!!!!! Not just sashimi, but octopus, marinated shrimp, sea squirt, sea cucumber and conch all together, a crazy lineup!

Was the shrimp tempura in the set better than expected?

The Basic Table at Damiseon also includes shrimp tempura. Honestly I never expect much from fried food that comes with a set at a sashimi restaurant instead of being ordered separately, but Damiseon fried it hot and crispy.

A piece of flatfish fin, and sea squirt full of fresh sea fragrance too,,, the moment it went in my mouth, we knew... that we would not be leaving sober...

How was the grilled herring?

The grilled herring in the Damiseon set has lots of tiny bones, but the flesh was nutty and rich, so I picked it clean.

Squid tempura (₩26,000) ordered as an add-on at Damiseon

I thought about ordering more sashimi, but the tempura in the set was so hot and tasty that I ordered squid tempura (₩26,000) instead. It was salty-savory, went great with somaek, and was delicious.

Finishing with Damiseon's fish-bone stew and maki

The Basic Table at Damiseon includes seodeori-tang (fish-bone stew) as the default side dish. I was about to add an extra roe stew, and it turns out the fish-bone stew comes with the set! Look how much fish roe is packed into this fish-bone stew!!!!!! Whoa;;

Stop the soju sudden-start...! Is that slush ice, boss??? With soju this icy cold, there's no brakes, no stopping...^^!!!!!!!!!!!!

And maki (seaweed rolls) come out to finish...! hahahahahahaha Even though it's the small set, there wasn't a single thing to throw away, a perfect lineup...💗

The restroom is also inside Damiseon, and it's nice and clean!

Is Damiseon at Gangnam Station good for company dinners and friend meetups?
