Seoul Station gyukatsu, 15–20 seconds on the brazier: Ichigyu

Ichigyu Seoul Station Branch is a gyukatsu and steki (Japanese-style steak) restaurant in Jung-gu, Seoul, about two minutes on foot from Seoul Station exit 10, in the basement beside the LG Seoul Station Building. On a weekday at 7pm there was no wait and no reservation needed for gyukatsu (sirloin, 19,500 won) and the steki set (sirloin, 19,500 won), 39,000 won in total, each slice grilled at the table on a mini cast-iron brazier. The staff suggest 7–8 seconds, but at Ichigyu 15–20 seconds gave far better temperature and texture — an easy, well-priced dinner right by the station.
