Kkachisan Japanese diner, pre-flight solo pork jowl bowl: Hekbap
In short
Hekbap Kkachisan Branch is a Japanese rice bowl and ramen restaurant on the 2nd floor near Exit 3 of Kkachisan Station in Gangseo, Seoul. Before flying solo to Japan on a budget airline with no in-flight meals, the writer ate alone there, ordering the pork jowl rice bowl set (14,900 won) less spicy, with mini okonomiyaki, fried chicken and fried shrimp on the side. With plenty of single seats, Hekbap Kkachisan Branch is an easy place to eat alone, and the pork jowl bowl set plus mini okonomiyaki is the combo to order.

A solo meal before the airport near Kkachisan Station: Hekbap Kkachisan Branch
Hekbap Kkachisan Branch (핵밥 까치산점) is a Japanese rice bowl and ramen restaurant on the 2nd floor, 99 m from Exit 3 of Kkachisan Station. I just got back from a solo trip to Japan, and since Peach Aviation has no in-flight meals and my flight arrived late at night, I filled up at Hekbap, a perfect Kkachisan Station stop before heading to the airport!
The pork jowl set is delicious and the place is great for eating alone. It's where I go whenever I want Japanese-style ramen, mazesoba (brothless mixed noodles) or Japanese rice bowls.💛

Hekbap Kkachisan Branch is super close to Kkachisan Station! 💗 It's easy to reach by public transport, so it's perfect when you're looking for a meal near the station. Lots of airport travelers come here, so I think it's also good if you want an affordable Kkachisan meal or a solo dining spot.

Inside Hekbap Kkachisan Branch: seating and eating alone
The inside is quite spacious, and the clean wood-tone tables give it a very comfortable feel.

At the back there are sofa-style seats that feel nicely private. ^-^ Great for group gatherings near Kkachisan Station too!

There are also quite a few solo seats where eating alone doesn't feel awkward, so I think it suits anyone looking for a solo meal near Kkachisan Station. Solo dining in Kkachisan, recommended!! Hekbap 🙂

What I ordered at Hekbap Kkachisan Branch, with prices
Hekbap has a wide variety of rice bowls, so choosing is half the fun, and you can also get udon and sides like fried food and okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake)! 🍚 This day I ordered the pork jowl bowl set (₩14,900).

And I added some sides too!
- Pork jowl bowl set ₩14,900
- Mini okonomiyaki, 2 pcs ₩3,000
- Fried chicken, 5 pcs ₩4,900
- Fried shrimp ₩4,500

With the sides added, the table filled up quite generously.

Pork jowl bowl set: can you order it less spicy?
I heard Hekbap's pork jowl bowl is spicy by default, so I asked for it less spicy when ordering! I'm not really a spicy-food person, so less spicy suited me much better. 👍🏻
Along with the pork jowl there were onion, green onion, chili peppers, cherry tomatoes and more, so it looked really colorful too.

The pork jowl was well soaked in sauce with a nicely browned surface, so it went great with rice. So good!!
Put the pork jowl and vegetables on the rice together and the meat's savory flavor and the sweet sauce go so well with the rice that you just keep eating!! If you love meat rice bowls and want a donburi spot near Kkachisan Station, definitely try the pork jowl bowl at Hekbap Kkachisan Branch!

Best side at Hekbap Kkachisan Branch: the mini okonomiyaki
The best thing I ate that day at Hekbap Kkachisan Branch was the mini okonomiyaki (2 pcs, ₩3,000). If you try Hekbap at different branches, each one has one side that's especially good, and at the Kkachisan Branch the okonomiyaki is really tasty.
Fried chicken (5 pcs) and fried shrimp

Crispy fried chicken! It went well with the pork jowl bowl. Crunchy outside, juicy inside! Not dry at all, just tender.

Ordering the fried shrimp too made the meal much more filling. ><
Recommended combo at Hekbap Kkachisan Branch for a solo lunch near Kkachisan Station
Hekbap Kkachisan Branch was such a good spot for lunch or a solo meal near Kkachisan Station! If you like meat rice bowls like me, I recommend the pork jowl bowl set with mini okonomiyaki added. If you want a donburi place very close to the station and a hearty lunch, definitely save Hekbap Kkachisan Branch. ❤️
