Guui Station café with sofa seats for solo vanilla latte: Wonz Coffee

Today I'm sharing a review of a truly proper coffee shop — a special space run by a national champion barista, located in Guui-dong! Both the coffee and the desserts were delicious at Wonz Coffee.

Where Wonz Coffee Children's Grand Park Main Branch is and when it opens

The full name is Café Wonz Coffee Children's Grand Park Main Branch (per Naver Map). It's closest to Guui Station, but Konkuk University, Sejong University, and Children's Grand Park are all nearby too.

They're open weekdays 08:00-22:00 and weekends 09:30-22:00 haha. There's no fixed day off, and with such long hours, it's easy for anyone to stop by.

It's a café with a strong presence and a large floor space, so it was easy to find. It's visible from far away, and the location is great.

It's a kiosk-order type place, and even from outside I could tell the shop was big and spacious, but once I actually went in, it was really huge and comfortable. And all the staff were so kind that, even before I'd had a sip of coffee or a bite of dessert, I already felt really at ease. For a café, taste matters, but I think the atmosphere and friendliness matter too. It was a great first impression.

Sofa seats for solo visitors and group tables at Wonz Coffee

The interior is stylishly decorated like this, and I liked that the lighting was bright instead of dim! With such a big café, bright lighting suits it better. And the group seating is well set up too.

Among all the seats, this is where I sat. I really, REALLY love a café with comfortable chairs. I love eating alone and going to cafés alone — I go to relax (haha, watch reels) and enjoy my own time, so comfortable seating really matters to me. Having a sofa like this made me so happy!!!!!

Bean choices and the free tea bag for a receipt review

Wonz Coffee is a café with real pride in 'coffee' itself, so I had high expectations, and sure enough, a coffee specialty shop is different. As you'd expect from a café where a national champion barista roasts and brews the beans directly, they had coffee products laid out like this. Nutty, fruity, decaf — the bean lineup is well organized. I wrote a receipt review and got a fruity-flavor coffee tea bag!!! Yay~~

Since I visited in the late evening, a lot of the desserts were sold out, but quite a few were still left haha.

Wonz Coffee's own dutch coffee gift set was also pretty tempting. My boyfriend really loves coffee, so I want to buy it for him. Next time I revisit, I'll attach a link at the very end of this post and add a review haha. Also, the prepayment event is nice — it's a coffee spot that's bound to have a lot of regulars, so the prepayment system is well set up.

I took photos of everything except the seasonal bingsu, which was already sold out.

• Iced vanilla latte (₩5,900) *I chose a nuttier-tasting bean — since the tea bag I got from the receipt review was fruity, I deliberately picked the opposite flavor haha
• Salty choco financier (₩3,500)
• Handmade premium strawberry milk (₩6,000) *I picked this because it was pretty haha
• Earl Grey scone (₩4,500)

Iced real vanilla latte ₩5,900: pour the espresso yourself

I'm going to have this handmade premium strawberry milk tomorrow! Since it's bottled, it's really convenient. I'm curious about the milk tea too.

The vanilla latte is fun because you pour the vanilla in yourself, like this. It's really~ delicious. With an iced vanilla latte, sometimes there's a place where the sweetness lingers heavily and unpleasantly on your palate, but this one was clean and sweet, and I loved that.

Choosing the nutty bean was such a great call!! The coffee bean flavor really came through in the vanilla latte, which I loved. Even if the coffee were just average, I'd still recommend visiting for the interior and desserts alone, but with delicious coffee too, I really, really want to recommend this place.

What does the black blend taste like?

Sipping slowly, it was such a relaxing time. The nuttier flavor I chose was the black blend bean, said to have the lowest acidity and nuttiest taste among their blends.

Wonz's nutty blend coffee, characterized by the aroma of freshly roasted peanuts, chocolate notes, a deep sweetness, and a lingering cacao finish after each sip!

That's how it's described. Sure enough..^^ knowing what it is does make it taste a bit better haha; honestly I can't quite tell, it's just delicious, haha. Still, thanks to Wonz Coffee I learned that I prefer nutty flavors over acidic coffee. So tasty.

Salty choco financier and Earl Grey scone at Wonz Coffee

The knife cuts through it so easily. I sliced it up and ate it — so good, sweet and salty.

The Earl Grey scone was also a delicious dessert with a subtle Earl Grey aroma rising through it. I heard warming it up brings out the fragrance even more, but personally I just ate it as is haha. Give it a try on your visit — the aroma is lovely.

Wonz Coffee gave me a strong urge to come back again and again (I'll definitely be back to buy the dutch coffee gift set). A café I really, really want to recommend, haha. Best.
