Yeonnam-dong hand-drip café with low-acid Guatemala: Central Site
In short
Central Site Yeonnam is a three-floor hand-drip coffee shop on Yeonhui-ro in Mapo-gu, Seoul, within walking distance of Exit 3 of Hongik University Station. With the barista guiding the writer through smelling the beans, Central Site Yeonnam recommended the Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed as a coffee without acidity, paired with a classic tiramisu, and the second floor with its floor-to-ceiling windows was the favourite of the three floors. Central Site Yeonnam is a Yeonnam-dong café for days when you want to slow down and savour the coffee itself.

I was looking for somewhere in Yeonnam-dong to enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee and ended up at Central Site Yeonnam. These days, when I pick a café, pretty interiors matter, but personally I also care quite a bit about whether I can actually take my time enjoying the coffee itself. Central Site Yeonnam brews hand-drip coffee to order, so from the moment you're waiting for your drink, you get to enjoy the faint aroma of the beans drifting through the air. Plus you can pair it with dessert, so it's a café better suited to lingering than rushing in for a coffee and leaving 🤎
Where is Central Site Yeonnam, and is there parking?
Central Site Yeonnam is located at 29-1 Yeonhui-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, and is open 08:00-22:00. Wi-Fi, delivery, takeout, and mobile payment are all available.

Central Site Yeonnam is easy to reach on foot from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station. If you're taking the subway, come out of Exit 3, round Donggyodong Intersection, and head toward Yeonnam-dong along the main road. If you're driving, there's a private lot (Urban Port) just 1-2 minutes' walk from the store, worth keeping in mind.
Central Site Yeonnam's 1st floor: watching the hand-drip process and a barista's aroma guide
The first floor of Central Site Yeonnam sits close to the bar where coffee is prepared, so you can watch the beans being ground and the hand-drip process right in front of you. The whole space runs from the first floor up to the third.

Even within one café, the mood shifts a bit floor by floor, so where you sit really changes the feel. Coffee lovers especially will probably be drawn in from the first floor. As soon as you walk in, you can see the brewing area up close, and the process of grinding beans and pouring the drip naturally catches your eye. Even before your drink arrives, a nutty, gentle coffee aroma spreads through the space, which put me in a good mood. It really felt like a place you came to for coffee.

Because the brewing area is so close on the first floor, it was great for watching the hand-drip coffee being prepared. From the moment the beans are ground, the aroma spreads gently, and watching the slow pour as the coffee extracts made me wait for my coffee a little more patiently than usual. While I was watching, the barista even helped me smell the coffee. It was fun that the aroma changed over time too :D Being able to enjoy this whole process at a café feels like the real charm of hand-drip coffee.

There were quite a variety of beans on display, and you could smell each kind, so it was nice to browse while waiting for coffee. On the side of the first floor there were also seats looking out the window.
What are the floor-to-ceiling window on 2F and the terrace on 3F like at Central Site Yeonnam?
The second floor of Central Site Yeonnam has a floor-to-ceiling window that takes in the outside view at a glance, and the third floor has an outdoor terrace. My favorite of the three floors was the second.

The second floor was personally my favorite space. With the floor-to-ceiling window, the outside view comes in at a glance, which keeps the space from feeling cramped and naturally draws your gaze outward. It felt like the kind of place you could pop into for a break while wandering around Yeonnam-dong 💨

And on the third floor there's a terrace space too. On a nice day, it seemed like a great spot to enjoy coffee outdoors. If the first floor is about watching the brewing process and enjoying the aroma up close, the second floor is about resting while looking out through the floor-to-ceiling window, and the third floor even has a terrace — so even within the same café, each floor has a slightly different mood, which made it fun to explore haha.
Guatemala Entre Volcanes recommended as a non-acidic hand-drip
What I ordered at Central Site Yeonnam was the brewing hand-drip Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed (Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed) and a classic tiramisu. The staff recommended the Guatemala beans as a non-acidic option.

- Brewing hand-drip - Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed
- Classic tiramisu

The Guatemala Entre Volcanes Washed I drank is apparently grown in San Miguel Dueñas in the Antigua region of Guatemala. Recommended by the staff as a non-acidic bean, it had a clean, nutty, and deep flavor. It's grown at roughly 1,500-1,700m altitude, uses Bourbon and Caturra varietals, and is processed by the washed method. Knowing this kind of information about the beans before drinking somehow made it more interesting than just drinking a plain cup of coffee.

And what I liked about the hand-drip was, as always, being able to enjoy the aroma from the moment the coffee is brewed. The gentle scent rising as the beans are ground, watching the slow pour extraction, and then sipping the coffee in the cup one mouthful at a time — it was definitely a more leisurely experience than just drinking a quick drink and leaving.

Classic tiramisu paired with the hand-drip
Central Site Yeonnam's classic tiramisu is a dessert with especially soft cream, balanced with the bittersweet crunch of chocolate. Eating the soft tiramisu together with the hand-drip coffee was such a great pairing. On a day when coffee alone feels like not quite enough, or when you want a sweet dessert alongside, pairing them like this is a good move haha.
When is a good day to visit Central Site Yeonnam?
Yeonnam-dong really has all kinds of cafés, but Central Site Yeonnam felt like a space better suited to a day when you want to slowly enjoy the coffee itself, rather than a quick stop for photos. The mood also shifts a bit floor by floor, so it seems fun to pick a seat depending on your mood that day. If you're looking for a café in Yeonnam-dong where you can enjoy hand-drip coffee together with dessert, it might be nice to try a cup of coffee with the tiramisu at Central Site Yeonnam. From the brewing process to the aroma to the space itself, it's a place I'll think of again on a day when I want to enjoy a café a little more slowly -!
