Taco restaurant near HUFS, Seoul for a rainy-day combo platter: Eaters
In short
Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch is a third-floor Mexican restaurant on Hwigyeong-ro in Dongdaemun, Seoul, near Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). On a very rainy day, the writer ordered the combo platter of chipotle cream pasta, a chicken burrito, two kinds of tacos, buffalo wings and nacho chips, and was impressed by the baby chairs and blankets on hand. Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch is a good Mexican spot near HUFS for tacos and a beer with friends instead of campus cafeteria food.

Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch, a taco place where you can really smell Mexico! I've suddenly fallen head over heels for tacos and been eating them a lot, and I heard a taco spot had opened near Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), so I went!
The ingredients are clean, fresh and used generously, and with the first bite my mouth filled with a burst of Mexican flavor! Okay, let me jot down my review~

Outside and inside the restaurant

Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch is on the third floor of the building you see in the photos! The space is big with lots of seats, so it looks perfect for group meals.

It rained so, so hard the day I went that the outdoor seats were closed off, but I thought that on a cool summer night like these, chatting quietly with family or friends over tacos and a beer would be so nice!

A taco restaurant with baby chairs and blankets
Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch has baby chairs and blankets ready. Have you ever seen such a thoughtful place?! There aren't that many restaurants with baby chairs, you know? But Eaters has them, so parents with little kids should be able to eat comfortably!
There are blankets too, so anyone who gets cold while eating can stay comfortable. This is the first time I've seen a taco place with blankets. Such a huge touch of consideration!
Parking tower parking is covered for 1 hour, but after that it's ₩2,000 for the first 30 minutes and ₩700 per 10 minutes.
What's on the menu at Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch?
Here is the menu at Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch.

As a Mexican restaurant should, it has tacos of course, plus fajitas and platters, and on top of that burritos, bowls, quesadillas, pasta and tapas!! (There's a kids' menu too.)
I originally came for the tacos, but with so many options it was so hard to choose T_T So in the end, what did I pick?!

What comes in the combo platter?
The Eaters Mexican combo platter comes with grilled chipotle cream pasta, a chicken burrito, a chicken taco and a carnitas (braised pulled pork) taco, buffalo wings, nacho chips, fries and sauces, all at once. I just couldn't pick only one dish, so I went for the platter.. it's the final boss of Eaters Mexican, like the big boss of the menu!

Chipotle cream pasta and chicken burrito
The chicken burrito in the combo platter is packed full. Can you see how stuffed it is inside?! My mouth isn't small, but I couldn't fit it in one bite. Seriously huge.
In the chipotle cream pasta the shrimp were plump, and the pasta and chipotle cream sauce were smooth while that signature chipotle flavor hit you right away. It was so good that I scraped up every last bit of sauce.

Chicken taco and carnitas taco
The combo platter comes with two kinds of tacos, chicken and carnitas. Pour on lots of my beloved guacamole and sauce, take a bite.. and that's heaven right there.
Both had distinct flavors of their own, and neither was a taco you could eat neatly. (Which just means they're packed with filling.)

What's the best way to eat the nachos and buffalo wings?
I was also really happy that Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch lets you refill the sauce once, and the nachos and buffalo wings, which I honestly didn't expect much from, were so good. Treat them a bit like side dishes: a bite of taco, nacho yum, a bite of burrito, buffalo wing yum, and you've got a setup where you never get sick of it.
By the way, as a self-proclaimed foodie, I can tell you nachos topped with guacamole or tomato and then sauce were great too, and dipping them in the chipotle pasta sauce was a real treat~

I couldn't try the fajitas this time T_T so next time I'll have to come back and eat fajitas this way~

Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch gives you either nachos or a soft drink for a review event, so give it a try!
If you're looking for tacos near HUFS
Fresh vegetables and meat on a thin, warm tortilla, plus cheat-code sauces, all in such wonderful harmony that I kept marveling and never got tired of it down to the last bite. That was Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch.
If you're looking for a unique and delicious restaurant near HUFS! If you want a place where you can casually and hipster-style grab tacos and a beer with friends instead of the same old campus cafeteria food, I highly recommend Eaters Mexican HUFS Branch!
