A perm day is a few hours of investment, so I walked in silently chanting "please turn out pretty..." about a hundred times.

What are the waiting area, head spa and shampoo room like?

Yeum Hair has a lounge-style waiting area. Wow, what is this place! I arrived a bit before my appointment, and there was a comfortable space to wait!

They start your treatment based on your appointment time, so I recommend arriving on time! I'd had an awkward half-lunch and was hungry, and picking at snacks one by one made the wait fly by.

Yeum Hair also has a separate head spa area! Getting it while lying in a massage chair must be heaven.

The shampoo room is cozy too! I closed my eyes for a moment during the shampoo and honestly almost fell asleep.. (the massage pressure is the best)

Big windows make the whole shop bright. I could see outside while getting my hair done, so it felt less stuffy, and the seats are spaced generously, so I could relax during the treatment.

Volume that collapses by lunchtime: before the cloud perm

Before the cloud perm, it had been a while since my last perm and my hair was drooping all over T_T Even when I blow-dried it in the morning, the volume vanished by lunchtime, and that was my biggest worry. (It looks even worse in the photo..) After the consultation, we started right away!

How long the cloud perm takes, and the steps

The whole cloud perm at Yeum Hair Nowon District Office branch took about 2 hours, I think! The steps were as follows.

• Heat twice
• Neutralizing once
• Shampoo (done)

They brought snacks now and then and there was a stand for my phone, so the time went faster than I expected.

How did the thick cloud perm turn out?

The after! When the thick cloud perm and blow-dry were finished and I first looked in the mirror, even the ends looked different from before. That's when I thought, this might turn out well?

What I liked most was the naturally lifted volume! It doesn't feel like heavy curls; it's a style that's easy to manage day to day.

The hair doesn't cling too tightly to my face, so it feels less stuffy overall, and the cloud perm curl isn't too strong, so the style isn't overwhelming.

They even teach you how to style it at home

I especially appreciated that they carefully explained the drying direction and styling method so I can keep it pretty at home too T_T It's often pretty at the salon but unmanageable once I get home T_T Thank you for explaining so thoroughly,, I'll work hard on styling..
