Anguk brunch bistro with off-menu barley asparagus risotto: Debbie's

In short

Debbie's is a brunch bistro on Changdeokgung-gil in Jongno, Seoul, near Anguk Station, set in a converted 1960s house that looks down over Changgyeonggung Palace. On a second visit in May 2026, the writer ordered the mimosa cocktail, an off-menu seasonal barley asparagus risotto and champignon tagliatelle, and found them clean, homemade-style dishes that let the ingredients shine. Debbie's is a palace-view Anguk brunch spot well suited to dates, blind dates and wedding invitation get-togethers.

What kind of place is Debbie's in Anguk?

Debbie's is a brunch bistro near Anguk Station. It has second-floor seats where you can look out the window down over Changgyeonggung Palace, plus terrace seats, and it's a great spot for brunch in a classy yet cozy atmosphere.

Stylish exterior and interior of Debbie's

I heard the restaurant was launched by the designer of the fashion brand Andy & Debb, and both the exterior and the interior feel stylish. Even the tableware is custom-made, so it feels elegant and refined!

The place is a converted old 1960s yangok (Western-style house), and the East-meets-West interior is charming. Fitting for homestyle brunch, it keeps a warm, cozy feel even amid the elegance.

Which seats at Debbie's have the best Changgyeonggung view?

The most popular spot at Debbie's is the second-floor window seat looking down over Changgyeonggung. If the weather cooperates, the terrace lets you eat while facing Changdeokgung head-on, so I'd guess it's the most sought-after seating.

Debbie's menu recommendations and taste review

Debbie's menu
Debbie's brunch menu lineup

The main menu at Debbie's, an Anguk favorite, is classic brunch plates and international dishes that pair well with champagne and wine. The homemade style is not overly seasoned and lets the ingredients shine, which keeps everything clean and light!

Debbie's signature drink, the mimosa cocktail

Mimosa cocktail: a must-order at Debbie's, with a non-alcoholic option

I had the mimosa last time too, and it's fresh in both looks and taste, so it's a must-order at Debbie's 🌼 Orange juice is frozen into flower shapes to make a sorbet, then topped with sparkling wine or soda. The yellow color resembles mimosa flowers, which is how it got its name.

It seemed like almost every table ordered a mimosa! You can also get it as a non-alcoholic cocktail, so it's easy to pair with brunch.

Debbie's seasonal barley asparagus risotto

Barley asparagus risotto: an off-menu seasonal dish

The barley asparagus risotto isn't on the menu, but it's a brand-new seasonal dish ☀️ It's a homemade risotto made for the season, where you can really taste the natural sweetness of asparagus.

Early-summer asparagus is said to have the most tender stalks and strongest aroma in May and June. I could really taste its signature crunch and fresh green flavor, so it was fresh and delicious.

Oil-based barley asparagus risotto

It's oil-based rather than cream-based, so the flavor of the ingredients comes through even more. I was amazed it could taste this rich without any meat or seafood. Because it's a barley risotto, it adds a fun, plump, popping texture, so every bite has a different charm. I'd highly recommend it.

Champignon tagliatelle, a button mushroom cream pasta

The mushroom flavor is deeply infused in the sauce, making it a nutty yet fragrant cream pasta. The wide tagliatelle noodles pick up plenty of sauce, so it tastes moist and rich.

Brunch spread ordered at Debbie's

Since it was my second visit, I mostly picked filling mains, but classic brunch dishes like eggs Benedict and French toast seem to be very popular too.

Is Debbie's a good Anguk date spot?

Enjoying brunch with a mimosa while looking at Changgyeonggung, I felt peacefully healed even though we were in central Seoul. With its unique East-meets-West charm, Debbie's is great for a blind date or a date, and it's an elegant place for a wedding invitation gathering too.

Every dish keeps the natural flavor of its ingredients, so the meal is fragrant, and the staff were always kind, which makes this an Anguk restaurant I want to go back to. Thanks for the meal 💛
