Today I'm introducing Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch 🥩 I wanted good meat in Guwol-dong, and I picked this place for our get-together because you don't have to grill the meat yourself, and it has special items like myeongran samgyeopsal (pork belly with pollack roe) on top of regular pork belly!
Where is Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch, and where do you park?
Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch is slightly north of Guwol-dong Rodeo Street, and you can use the building's basement parking garage. It's not far from Yesulhoegwan Station either, so it's a decent location if you're coming by public transport. And one of the things I liked most about my visit was the parking!

Guwol-dong is so busy and crowded with cars that even when you find a great restaurant, there's often nowhere to park, right? But Midonjip lets you use the building's basement garage, which is so convenient. It felt like driving there would be less of a burden even on a rainy day.

After parking, go up to the 1st floor and head south, and you'll find Midonjip. First-timers might want to keep this in mind haha.

A Guwol-dong BBQ restaurant where staff grill the meat for you
At Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch, the staff grill the meat for you. Honestly, when I pick a BBQ place for a get-together, whether the staff do the grilling is something I care about more than you'd think! Eating meat is great, but if you keep staring at the grill, it's hard to focus on the conversation, and cooking every cut just right isn't easy either.
So this time I went looking for a place that grills for you and found Midonjip. They also sell something a bit special like myeongran samgyeopsal, so I was even more excited.

Ordering the tablet's signature Hanpan Set
Looking over the menu after sitting down, we ordered the Hanpan Set (literally "one-platter set")! I couldn't find it on the menu board I photographed, but it was marked as the signature item when ordering on the tablet. It looked like a way to try several kinds of meat at once, so I picked it without hesitation.

From mukbap-style acorn jelly soup to the grill setup
Once we ordered, Midonjip's banchan (side dishes) started spreading across the table one after another. What I was happy to see was the mukbap (chilled acorn jelly soup), which I love! With meat, a cool, tangy bowl of it freshens up your mouth and is great to have in between bites haha. After that, a staff member came over and began getting ready to grill.

First, they wipe the grill with a piece of pork fat. Even this prep made it feel like a place that really grills for you.

Midonjip's secret powder on the meat
And at last the meat went onto the grill! But there was a powder sprinkled on top that I'd never seen before. I was curious and asked the staff, and they said it's Midonjip's secret powder. I really wondered what flavor it would add.

It's not just meat on the grill: they also add mushrooms, gosari (bracken fern) and kimchi.

Various sauces and my beloved minari (water dropwort) were piled onto the grill too, and we were ready to eat! With so many ingredients to grill alongside the meat, the meal looked even more generous.

What's in the Midonjip Hanpan Set?
The Hanpan Set came with a variety of cuts: ogyeopsal, moksal, hangjeongsal, myeongran samgyeopsal and gabrisal. Midonjip says all of its meat is Hanhon (Korean pork).
- Ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly)
- Moksal (pork neck)
- Hangjeongsal (pork jowl)
- Myeongran samgyeopsal (pork belly with pollack roe)
- Gabrisal (pork collar muscle)
At BBQ places we often end up ordering the usual samgyeopsal or moksal, so being able to enjoy several cuts at once is the charm of the Hanpan Set, I think. From ogyeopsal to moksal, hangjeongsal and gabrisal, each cut has its own texture and character, so it's fun to try them one by one.
I also liked that it includes Midonjip's signature myeongran samgyeopsal. It's not easy to find at other BBQ places, so if you visit Midonjip, it's worth a look.
Above all, since the staff grill the meat, I could worry less about cooking and chat comfortably with my companion while eating. Add the kimchi, gosari, mushrooms and minari grilled alongside the meat, and you can mix and match in lots of ways for a really satisfying meal.
Want Hanhon in Guwol-dong? Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch
Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch is a place I'd like to recommend to anyone looking for BBQ in Guwol-dong. I especially liked that there's a grilling service so you don't have to cook, and that you can enjoy a variety of Hanhon cuts in the Hanpan Set.
There are also items like myeongran samgyeopsal that you don't see often, so it's a good choice when you want a slightly different BBQ meal. Parking is a worry in lots of spots in Guwol-dong, so being able to use the building's basement garage is another plus!
If you're looking for a BBQ place for a get-together with friends, a date, or a day when you just want to eat meat comfortably, take a look at Midonjip Incheon Guwol Main Branch :) I recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy Hanhon in Guwol-dong!
