Magok Italian bistro with a long table for group lunch: Romaok Magok
In short
Romaok Magok is an Italian bistro on the 3rd floor of LG Arts Center Seoul in Magok, Gangseo, Seoul, serving Italian dishes made with Korean ingredients. A regular of several years had a weekday lunch at Romaok Magok with a former coworker, ordering scallion ciabatta bread, mushroom truffle cream pasta and piri piri chicken, and also describes the central long table and group seating. Natural light, high ceilings and dishes that never disappoint keep bringing this regular back to Romaok Magok.

While digging around for this review, I found out that Romaok serves food and wine from a chef who trained at a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Italy. No wonder it's so good!! 🩷 I've also tried dishes that use Korean ingredients in Italian cooking, like the abalone innards pasta and the maesaengi (seaweed) and scallop risotto, and they were all delicious. They blend everything so well, with no misses!
How to find Romaok Magok in LG Arts Center
Romaok Magok is on the 3rd floor of LG Arts Center Seoul, and both the elevator and the escalator go up to the 3rd floor. Just take whichever is closest!
I took the elevator, and when you step out you can see outside through the big windows. Turn right and follow the path, and you'll see signs saying LG Arts Center auditorium 3rd floor, and a sign on the left saying Romaok is that way.

Look to the left and here's the entrance to Romaok 🤍✨

Pretty from the entrance already, right? It gets lovely light, which is another reason I like it.

Let's take a quick peek at the full menu before going in.

What's the atmosphere inside Romaok Magok?
The interior of Romaok Magok is clean and neat, and the tables are nicely spaced! It gets plenty of light and the ceilings are high, so it never feels stuffy.

Romaok gets so much sunlight, which I love, and it also makes good use of the LG Arts Center building, so

it has this sooo high ceiling, wow!! The height means it never feels stuffy, and there's nothing lacking anywhere, which is probably why I keep coming back 💖

The inside is spacious too. There are quite a lot of tables, and I also love the big table in the center.

Can you do a group lunch at Romaok Magok?
When I used to work in Magok, I once booked 4 tables at Romaok Magok for a team lunch (eating out together). This side is a fairly separate space, so I was really happy with it for a group booking ✨
Weekday lunch with a former coworker
This day I was meeting my dear younger friend, my Jjingu, who came to Magok to see me! We met at my old workplace, and now she's become someone I want to stay close to for a long, long time.

It was a weekday, so while I waited for her to rush over after her meeting in time for lunch, I checked out the table setting

and looked through the menu. You order on that tablet!
A look at the Romaok Magok menu

Every dish at Romaok Magok is pretty and the portions aren't small, and so far everything has been delicious with no misses! I really recommend all of it! 💖✨

Dessert discount with a Dracula musical ticket
The musical Dracula is on at LG Arts Center Seoul right now, so Shaaa-racula!!!!! 💖✨💖✨ haha. Romaok Magok has a Dracula season menu and a discount too! If you bring your show ticket, the 'dessert of the day' is 50% off, so keep that in mind! The coffee and desserts at Romaok are all good too 💚💚💚
Lunch order at Romaok Magok: drinks and scallion ciabatta bread
I was thirsty before my friend arrived, so I had a hibiscus tea! The coffee at Romaok is good too.. but I'm cutting back on caffeine, so I had tea today haha.

My friend arrived soon after, and I think she ordered an ade 🍋 It was lunchtime, so we kept it light and picked one pasta and one chicken thigh dish as our mains 🩷

The bread came out and ㅜㅜㅜ why am I crying? ㅠㅠ Romaok's bread is seriously famous for being so good… It's a scallion (green onion) ciabatta baked fresh to order, and it was out of this world..💖💖💖💖💖💖 It's the thing I think about most when I get home haha ㅠㅠㅠ Honestly, everyone should go just to try this.

Mushroom truffle cream pasta
The first dish is the mushroom truffle cream pasta. It comes with black truffle, mushroom cream sauce, Grana Padano cheese and mezzi paccheri.
Even though I come to Romaok Magok often, I always order this one. The cream sauce clings so well to the wide, big paccheri noodles, so it's one of my favorites!

Piri piri chicken
The second dish is the piri piri chicken. It's made with grilled chicken thigh, piri piri sauce, corn purée, chive oil, coriander and orange foam.
I've been into chicken dishes lately, and the savory piri piri sauce goes so well with the corn purée, so it was a great pick for a lunch main! Sooo yummy!! Need I say more?
Overall: why I recommend the central long table at Romaok Magok
TMI) I love the interior of the long table in the middle of Romaok Magok so much that when a friend visited from the US a few years ago, we sat here together, and it was so so good!

There are fun props to look at, so even if you don't get a table of your own, I really wanted to say the central long table is great too! 🤍🤍🤍
