Hi, I'm Noran 🐥

A while back I was looking for a good place to eat out in Yangju with my family, and I found a genuinely delicious Yangju galbi restaurant I really want to tell you about! The interior is clean, the side dishes are beautifully arranged, and the meat quality is so good that my aunt who came with me is still raving about it. I really want to recommend this to anyone living in Yangju — so where is it ~??
Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch — location and parking
It's Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch! 😋 It's located on the 1st floor of 65 Songnang-ro, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, with free parking available.

Manpo Galbi sits spaciously in Yangju's Mansong-dong neighborhood!!
There's a huge parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so free parking is easy and convenient! The spaces are really wide and generous, so on a hot day like this you don't have to stress over finding a spot haha

There's even a comfortable waiting area with sofa seats right outside the restaurant!
Inside Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch — 2nd-floor sofa seats and booths
The interior of Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch was really spacious, and it even has a second floor~!!

Right at the entrance on the 1st floor, plaques from an SBS Biz food guide appearance and food festival awards caught my eye! There were also signatures from celebrities who'd visited, including Ji Sang-ryeol and Yoo Sang-moo ~~ ✨ Once you step in, they guide you straight up to the 2nd floor!

The 2nd floor felt even more spacious and pleasant ✨ There are comfortable, roomy sofa seats plus partitioned booth seats, which seems perfect for a Yangju work dinner or gathering!!

Behind the sofa seating, there were several fans running between elegant ceramic decorations, which I loved haha. Sitting in front of the charcoal fire can get hot even with the AC blasting, but with all those fans it stayed nice and cool 🌬️
Menu and order — hand-cut Korean pork galbi 250g, ₩19,000
At Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch we ordered 3 servings of hand-cut Korean pork galbi (250g) at ₩19,000 each, 2 bowls of rice at ₩1,000 each, and the 3 free Hamhung mul-naengmyeon.

True to a Yangju galbi hotspot, the menu had a wide range — hand-cut Korean pork galbi, raw galbi, LA galbi, and even beef galbi! ☝️What's special about Manpo Galbi is that they give you free self-made Hamhung naengmyeon, freshly made each morning, whenever you order meat! Besides meat, there are also meal options like galbitang (short rib soup), ppyeogaejang, and yukgaejang. So what did we order ~~?
- Hand-cut Korean pork galbi (250g) ₩19,000 x 3 servings
- Hamhung mul-naengmyeon free x 3 bowls
- Rice ₩1,000 x 2
Side dishes that even include yukhoe and yukjeon
First they set out the side dishes for us~

A spicy garlic ssamjang mix that goes great with the meat, potato salad that I love 💛 and even samchae with healthy ginseng in it! But that's not all...

Besides the 6 basic side dishes, there was the usual pickled onion and soy sauce marinade to go with the meat, plus yukhoe (beef tartare) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef)..! This isn't just galbi-restaurant banchan — it's practically hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) quality, with such a variety of tasty dishes that you could enjoy a full meal with just the rice and sides, no meat needed haha

Even the utensils came hygienically packaged ✨
How does the charcoal-grilled hand-cut Korean pork galbi taste?
🔥Thick cuts of hand-cut Korean pork galbi went onto the hot, well-heated charcoal. You know galbi has to be grilled over charcoal, right!?
Just look at that golden-brown galbi sizzling away 🤤 The meat was so tender it melted in my mouth.. It wasn't an artificial sweetness but a healthy marinade packed with fruit, so it never got tiring and I kept reaching for more — with a subtle hint of charcoal smoke on top, it was truly delicious 👍

The galbi and rice alone were delicious, but taking a bite of the crunchy, tangy pickled onions and topping it with the garlic-chili ssamjang side dish, that sharp spiciness cutting through the richness was just so good 😋
Free self-made Hamhung naengmyeon
I paired the perfectly grilled galbi with the free Hamhung mul-naengmyeon too~ If you're having meat here, you absolutely have to try the hand-made Hamhung naengmyeon!

Maybe because the noodles are made fresh each morning, they weren't chewy at all — the texture was really soft and tender haha. My aunt took a bite and said she'd never had naengmyeon with this kind of texture before, praising it over and over as soft and delicious ✨ It totally won over even the older generation's taste buds

Lastly, I picked apart the well-grilled rib meat too. I usually can't be bothered to pick galbi off the bone, but it came apart so easily and smoothly that I loved it!
We ate galbi until we were satisfyingly full, but it's still not over yet!!
1st-floor dessert — self-serve ppeong-scream and coffee
Coming back down to the 1st floor, a special dessert was waiting haha
🍦A self-serve ppeong-scream!! Apparently putting ice cream on top of ppeongtwigi (puffed rice cracker) is called a 'ppeong-scream'?✨ It was my first time trying it, and it was such a lovely treat — crunchy, sweet, and refreshingly cool haha

There was also a coffee machine, so I brewed a hot Americano and enjoyed it on the walk home, ppeong-scream in one hand and coffee in the other 😋
A Yangju gathering spot to visit with elders?
✨

True to Manpo Galbi Yangju Main Branch's slogan, "generously giving," this was a place where I felt lavishly taken care of from start to finish — quality galbi, free Hamhung naengmyeon, a variety of beautifully arranged side dishes, and dessert on top. I brought my elders here and they're still saying "that place was so good" to this day, so I'd strongly recommend it not just to anyone looking for a Yangju galbi restaurant, but especially as a spot for a Yangju work dinner or gathering with elders 🐥✨
