I was looking for somewhere to have dinner and a drink near Konkuk University when I ended up at Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch. It's near Children's Grand Park Station and Sejong University, so it's easy to find if you're hunting for Sejong University restaurants, and it's close enough to Konkuk University too, so it works for anyone looking for Konkuk University bars. The menu goes way beyond yukhoe (raw beef tartare) and mungtigi — yakiniku, salmon, skewers, soup — so there was real fun in picking a bunch of different things to eat.
Today's pick

At this private, date-friendly Konkuk-area bar, we had a full spread of yakiniku, salmon, beef sashimi and highballs.
Where is Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch, and where do you park?
Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch is on the 1st floor of 50 Gunja-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, between Sejong University and Konkuk University. It's open daily from 17:00 to 06:00 the next day (last order 05:55), and since there's no on-site parking, the Gwangjin Plaza public parking lot near Children's Grand Park is the option, about a 3–4 minute walk away.
Coming out of Exit 4 at Children's Grand Park Station and heading into the alley by Ongnumong, it's about a 3-minute walk. From Konkuk University Station, take Exit 1, pass Hwayang Market, and it's about a 7-minute walk. Being close to both Konkuk University and Sejong University, it's a convenient spot whether you're looking for Konkuk University bars or Sejong University restaurants near campus.
For parking, we first tried near the Hwayang police substation but there was no space, so we moved to the Gwangjin Plaza public lot by Children's Grand Park. It said full on a Saturday evening, so we waited, but when we checked again there were actually open spots — we called the parking guide line and got in. Worth knowing if you're planning to park there.
Partitioned seats and a quiet mood for a date
Walking into Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch, I noticed partitions installed between the tables, naturally separating each group from the next. It's not a fully closed room, but the layout makes it comfortable to talk with your group, which would also work well for anyone looking for a Konkuk University private-room bar. If you're after a private atmosphere among Konkuk University bars, this fits the bill for a date-night spot.

There was also seating arranged well for solo drinking.

The place also has cute dolls and keycap keyrings around. Your fingers get no rest even while you're having a drink — a fun, hip kind of Konkuk-area bar.

The yukhoe bibimbap in particular seemed designed with Sejong University students' wallets in mind — like a proper campus cafeteria meal. It's even got a double-portion option for a heartier meal, which felt like a thoughtful touch for students. There are also other value-conscious dishes like jokbal and bossam.
What comes in the 55,900 won beef sashimi yakiniku set
We ordered the beef sashimi yakiniku set at Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch. It came with gravlax salmon, mungtigi beef sashimi, fan-cut beef yakiniku, 5 skewers, self-made rice balls and 2 highballs — plenty to sample a bit of everything.
The raw salmon melted the moment it hit my mouth. Dipped in tartar sauce and topped with capers, the salty-tangy flavor cut through the salmon's richness beautifully.

For the skewers, we each picked one of ginkgo nuts, chicken skin, heart, and chicken gizzard — a great match alongside the meat dishes as a drinking snack.

The yakiniku set also came with highballs. It had a refreshing, slightly sweet taste that made it easy to drink without feeling like a burden. Not too strong, it went down smoothly and paired well with the food, haha.

The fan-cut beef yakiniku is grilled right at the table, which made it fun to eat. Grilling the vivid red beef briefly on the individual burner and dipping it in sesame oil sauce made it savory and tender — really delicious. There were also several sauces to choose from, so picking your favorite was part of the fun.
The self-made rice balls were loaded with seaweed flakes and had a nutty flavor, shaped into neat, bite-sized rounds. They were good on their own, but grilling them briefly on the burner added a crispy texture that made them even better.

The basic side dish, beef egg soup, was mildly seasoned — a great pairing with the other dishes. If you run low, you can get free refills, so keep that in mind. Generous hospitality is always welcome, haha.

Being able to enjoy several dishes at once like this would suit anyone looking for a Sejong University restaurant who also wants to handle drinks in the same place.
Yukhoe platter, 23,900 won: beef tartare and mungtigi in one dish
Next up was the yukhoe platter. It comes with top-grade wagyu yukhoe and mungtigi made from carefully selected outside round, so we got to taste two dishes at once. True to the name Yukhoe Gongjakso, being able to enjoy fresh yukhoe and chewy mungtigi together was a nice touch.
The yukhoe came drizzled with sauce, and as I ate it I thought it would make a filling meal with rice. That's when it clicked why the yukhoe bibimbap is called the Sejong University cafeteria meal. With options ranging from meal-worthy dishes like yukhoe bibimbap to drinking snacks, it's worth a look if you prefer places with plenty of choice when searching for Sejong University restaurants.
The mungtigi had a nice fresh, chewy texture. Dipped lightly in sesame oil with a touch of wasabi, the nutty flavor combined with a bit of a kick that worked really well.
Finishing with the 19,900 won seafood jjamppong tang
After working through several dishes, we felt like having some spicy broth, so we added the seafood jjamppong tang at the end.

The seafood jjamppong tang was loaded with blue crab, mussels and other seafood, giving the broth a clean, refreshing flavor. Spicy and satisfying, it paired well as a drinking accompaniment too.
We also ordered a Coke, which came with a cup of ice so we could keep it cold.

I went in thinking only of yukhoe and mungtigi, but I liked that there was such a wide range of options — yakiniku, skewers, salmon, soup — letting us pick several things in one sitting. It made me think this would suit anyone looking for Konkuk University bars who also wants a solid meal alongside the drinks.
A Konkuk University area bar with plenty of drinking snacks to choose from

Yukhoe Gongjakso Sejong University branch goes well beyond yukhoe and mungtigi, with yakiniku, salmon, skewers and soup on the menu too, making it a great pick for anyone browsing Konkuk University bars who wants a variety of dishes to choose from. The partitions in particular make it easy to talk comfortably within your own group, giving it the kind of private feel of a Konkuk University private-room bar — a place I'd recommend to anyone who prefers a quieter, still-hip Konkuk-area bar.

If you're near Children's Grand Park Station and Sejong University looking for a good Sejong University restaurant, or after a Konkuk University bar for a date, this one is worth checking out. Even if you start out searching for Sejong University restaurants and end up looking for a bar instead, the wide menu here makes it easy to handle a meal and drinks in one place. And if you're after that Sejong University cafeteria meal in particular, it's worth checking the yukhoe bibimbap on the menu too. In the end, we went out for a drink at a Konkuk-area bar and came home pretty full, having worked through yakiniku, salmon, beef sashimi, skewers, and seafood jjamppong tang.
