Yeouido snack bar for 3: combo plus extra tteokbokki, Hyeonseonine
In short
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is a Korean snack bar (bunsik) on basement level 2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul, along the passage from Yeouido Station (Line 5) to IFC Mall and The Hyundai Seoul. Three diners ordered the Hyeonseon Combo Set for 25,000 won, added 1 extra serving of tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and chose the mild spice level; the food filled the whole table, and they ate their fill and still left a little. Hyeonseonine Premium is a good stop when you crave Korean street snacks after shopping or a movie at IFC Mall.

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch
Today I visited ✔️Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch✔️, a famous tteokbokki (spicy stir-fried rice cakes) spot in Yeouido!

Where is Hyeonseonine Premium in Yeouido IFC Mall?
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch sits along the walkway from Yeouido Station (Line 5) toward IFC Mall and The Hyundai Seoul! It's a great spot to grab a quick meal after shopping or watching a movie inside IFC Mall haha. If you're coming from inside IFC Mall, just follow the subway signs and you'll find it easily~

I first tried Hyeonseonine years ago in Yongsan and was honestly shocked at how good the tteokbokki was haha. I happened to spot a branch at Yeouido Station on my way to work one day and thought I really had to visit — and I finally made it happen!

Kiosk self-ordering, and why a set works best for three
First, grab an open seat, then order yourself at the kiosk by the store entrance! Once your food is ready, staff kindly bring it to your table haha. There were three of us that day, and just tteokbokki alone felt like it wouldn't be enough, so we ordered a set menu that lets you try several dishes at once!

What's in the 25,000 won Hyeonseon Combo Set?
We ordered the Hyeonseon Combo Set (₩25,000) plus one extra serving of tteokbokki. The Hyeonseon Combo Set comes with tteokbokki + fried snacks + sundae (Korean blood sausage) + gimbap (seaweed rice roll) + fish cake all together, which makes it great for ordering when you're visiting with a group. At a tteokbokki place, you never just want tteokbokki alone, right — you want gimbap, fried snacks, and sundae too! Ordering one set lets everyone enjoy a bit of everything haha.

Pickled radish and water at the self-serve bar
While waiting for our food, we grabbed pickled radish, water, and utensils ourselves from the self-serve bar on the side of the store! Pickled radish is a must with tteokbokki haha.

Is the combo set plus extra tteokbokki enough for three?
After a short wait, our order finally arrived! With the set plus an extra serving of tteokbokki, the food filled the table completely haha. It looked like plenty even for three people, and in the end we ate until we were completely full and still had a bit left over haha.

Mild tteokbokki: flavor and rice cake texture
You can choose the spice level of the tteokbokki — mild, medium, or spicy — and since all three of us don't handle spicy food well, we went straight for mild without a second thought~ Maybe because it was mild, but we could really taste the sweet, characteristic sauce flavor more than heat haha. It seems like a good option for anyone who can't handle spicy food!
One of the reasons I love Hyeonseonine is that the rice cakes are so chewy!! Texture really matters for tteokbokki, and these were soft yet chewy, getting tastier the more you chewed~ Even though we only added one extra serving of tteokbokki to the set, the amount was still pretty huge haha.

Gimbap, sundae and fish cake broth
Everything else — gimbap, fried snacks, sundae, and fish cake broth — was all delicious too. The sundae especially came loaded with not just the sausage but also lungs and other innards, totally my kind of thing haha. Luckily (?) my friend can't eat sundae, so it all ended up in my stomach ,, The fish cake broth came alongside it too, and sipping it between bites felt refreshing and cleared my palate nicely.

Fried snacks, and dipping them in the tteokbokki sauce
The fried snacks came in a nice variety — vegetable fritters, gimmari (fried seaweed rolls), squid fritters — so it was fun picking through them one by one!
You all know it's an unwritten rule to dip fried snacks into tteokbokki broth when it's the saucy kind haha. When the crispy fritter soaks up the moist tteokbokki sauce, it tastes so much better than eating it plain.

Hyeonseonine Premium review event: free fried tteokbokki or rice ball
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is also running a review event~ If you leave a review and show it to staff, they'll give you a free fried tteokbokki or a savory mayo rice ball! It'd be a shame to skip an event like this, so if you visit, I definitely recommend joining the review event after your meal haha.
If you're shopping at IFC Mall or The Hyundai in Yeouido and craving some Korean snack food, give Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch a try!!
