I visited Butter & Shelter Cheongdam, a handmade bakery café near Cheongdam Station that's famous for its butter sands. Where is Butter & Shelter Cheongdam?

Butter & Shelter Cheongdam is a one-minute walk from Exit 11 of Cheongdam Station, at 513 Hakdong-ro, 1st floor, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. You get there almost as soon as you come out of the station exit, so it was really easy to find 👀 It's also a low-pressure place to drop into before or after meeting someone.

Atmosphere and seating at Butter & Shelter Cheongdam

There are terrace seats in front of the shop too. In hot weather like now it's a bit hard to sit out there, but it looks like a lovely spot for coffee and dessert in cool spring or autumn weather!

Inside, green and butter-yellow accents blend nicely with wood furniture, giving the whole place a calm, cozy feel 🍀

True to the name ("Butter & Shelter"), it feels like a little resting space where you can take a break, and I liked that even more 🍀

They have a Dubai butter sand too

A poster on the wall showed that Butter & Shelter Cheongdam also sells a Dubai butter sand! I ate a lot of Dubai chocolate and dujjonku (Dubai chewy cookies) when they were trending, but I'd never seen a butter sand version, so that was fun haha. Rich Dubai chocolate with nutty pistachio and crunchy kadaif sounds delicious just from the picture.

What are the desserts like at Butter & Shelter Cheongdam?

Besides butter sands, the counter had a wide range of bakery items and desserts: Matilda cake, choco s'mores cookies, yellow cheese cream cookies, Earl Grey lemon cookies, red velvet cream cheese cookies and more 🍪 There were so many that I struggled to choose.

Every dessert was individually wrapped and displayed hygienically inside glass cases! I liked how neatly it's all kept and sold 🤍

Each butter sand was carefully wrapped in a translucent label sheet, and the simple yet stylish design made the dessert look even more upscale.

Butter & Shelter's butter spenner is strong coffee topped with plenty of smooth butter cream 🤍 The nutty, sweet cream makes every sip rich and mellow..! Especially with the tangy raspberry butter sand, the balance of sweet and fresh was really good 🫶🏻
