Daeheung Station burger shop: crispy chicken thigh set, Quokka Bite
In short
Quokka Bite (쿼카바이트) is an American West Coast-style handmade burger restaurant on a side street near Daeheung Station in Mapo, Seoul, decorated with an orange awning and quokka characters. The writer ordered the Quokka Crispy Chicken set (13,900 won) on a Toss kiosk and tried the whole chicken thigh patty, red cabbage coleslaw, thick-cut fries and onion rings. Verdict: Quokka Bite's chicken burger is too good to be overshadowed by its cute concept.

Walking down a side street near Daeheung Station, you'll spot an orange striped awning and the quokka, the happiest animal in the world, waving you in. This is Quokka Bite, a handmade burger spot near Daeheung Station. From the hip, West Coast-America-style interior to the burger and sides that make your mouth happy, here's my full hands-on review!!
Where is Quokka Bite, and what are the hours and parking?
Quokka Bite is a 3-minute walk from Daeheung Station Exit 3. It's open Monday to Saturday 12:00–21:00 (last order 20:30) and closed every Sunday. I'd recommend taking the subway! For parking, you'll need to use the paid lot next door.
Quokka Bite's exterior and interior
The entrance mixes a cheerful orange-and-white awning with green terrace tables, giving off a real exotic mood. The orange, American-style exterior even comes with a cute photo spot.

Step inside and every corner has its own twist. One wall is warm wood, lined with hip goods stamped with the Quokka Bite logo: caps, T-shirts, cups and more that catch your eye.

Scenic postcards on the wall and soft Edison bulb lighting add a cozy hideout vibe. The ordering area on the other side is finished in clean white tile, which feels hygienic and modern.

Ordering on the Toss kiosk and the drinks fridge
You order through a tidy white Toss kiosk inside the shop, where you can pick single items or sets easily. Right next to it is a neatly arranged drinks case that's calming just to look at.

It's stocked with sodas like Zero Pepsi, Chilsung Cider and Toms Zero, plus Trevi sparkling water and Delmonte orange juice, and, perfect with handmade burgers, a cold lineup of imported bottled beers such as Heineken, Stella and Big Wave.

How does the Quokka Crispy Chicken Burger taste?
When my set arrived, the cute quokka packaging and the toasty smell of freshly fried sides made me go "wow" before I'd even taken a bite.

The Quokka Crispy Chicken Burger is overwhelming in volume, and the looks alone grab you. Between a soft, moist brioche bun sits a big, thick chicken thigh patty, crunchy like a snack on the outside and packed with juice inside.
The crunchy, fresh red cabbage coleslaw sauce smooths over the richness of the fried chicken, so you can enjoy it plain and un-tiring to the very last bite. It's a strongly recommended menu item. It comes in a burger cup printed with a cute quokka illustration, which makes it easy and tidy to hold while eating.

Golden and crispy: thick fries and onion rings
Quokka Bite's French fries and onion rings are the classic side combo to enjoy with a burger.
- French fries: not thin and soggy, but cut thick, so they stay crispy outside and fluffy inside. Well-made fries.
- Onion rings: onion rings fried golden in a crunchy batter, with the onion's sweet flavor bursting out with every bite. Just right as a side.
