Hi, this is Riel!
The day I was meeting friends at Gasan Station, one of them was coming from far away, so I was thinking about what to eat together — on a hot day, I wanted to fill everyone up with a hearty meal of meat.
But!! Going to a Korean BBQ place usually means your clothes and hair end up smelling like smoke, and there's always the quiet hassle of someone having to keep grilling the meat.
So the place I chose was Choi Woo-young Gogiya (최우영고기야), a restaurant near Gasan Digital Complex Station. The meat comes out already grilled to perfection, and the side dishes and meal spread are so generous that all three of us left satisfied.

How close is Choi Woo-young Gogiya to Gasan Digital Complex Station?
Choi Woo-young Gogiya is just 125m from Exit 5 of Gasan Digital Complex Station, making it easy to meet up with friends. It's in the basement of Daeryung Post Tower 6, so weather isn't much of an issue when you're getting there!!!
There are a lot of office workers around Gasan Station, many of them looking for dinner or company dinner spots. Being close to the subway and covering everything from meat to a full meal in one place made it a great spot for a get-together.

Inside Choi Woo-young Gogiya: room and seating
Walking into Choi Woo-young Gogiya, the first thing I noticed was the warm interior done up in wood and brick. The tables had decent spacing between them, and there was plenty of seating for larger groups.
On the wall, a pink neon sign read "my heart feels meaty" — a phrase that fit the barbecue vibe perfectly and made me laugh.

Before the meat arrived, we started with a cold beer toast! We caught up with friends I hadn't seen in a while as the meal began.

Beef that arrives already grilled, no work at the table
The biggest perk of Choi Woo-young Gogiya is that you don't have to grill the meat yourself.

The beef arrives already well-grilled, sitting with onions on a wide pan, so all we had to do was dig in right away. So tasty, nom nom nom!!!
The pan keeps the meat warm so it doesn't cool down quickly, letting us eat comfortably the whole time. If it cools, you can just turn the heat back on, haha.
The meat looked thick and appetizing at a glance. The outside was nicely browned while the inside stayed juicy, never dry. There was barely any gamey smell, which made it clear how fresh the beef was. The smoky flavor blended well with the savory juices, so it was delicious even without much salt or ssamjang.
Since we weren't grilling it ourselves, conversation never got interrupted, and we didn't have to deal with oil splatters or lingering smoke, so the worry about smells sticking to our clothes was pretty minimal.
Self-serve side dish bar and yangnyeom gejang
Choi Woo-young Gogiya, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Gasan, had a really solid side-dish lineup, not just the meat.
The ssam (wrap) greens like lettuce and perilla leaves were fresh, and the scallion salad, spicy radish salad, garlic and pickled sides all paired well with the beef. Any side dish or wrap green you ran low on could be easily grabbed from the self-serve bar, so we ate plenty.

Of all the side dishes, the one I remember most is definitely the seasoned crab (yangnyeom gejang)!!
I didn't expect much from crab served as a side dish at a barbecue place, but my mind changed after one bite.

The crab was deeply soaked in spicy seasoning, and the umami really came through. Eating a bite of meat and then some seasoned crab brought my appetite right back to life. It went well with rice too, to the point of saying "I came for the meat but fell for the crab."
It didn't feel like a side dish thrown in just for the sake of variety — it felt carefully prepared, which made it all the more satisfying. The seasoned crab alone was impressive enough to finish a whole bowl of rice.
Doenjang stew, whole shrimp, buckwheat noodles and nurungji
A bubbling doenjang (soybean paste) stew came out alongside the meat. The savory broth with tofu and vegetables cleanly cut through the richness of the beef. The whole shrimp, grilled to a nice golden brown, had plump flesh and was a real treat.

Picking apart the shrimp shells between bites of meat added even more fun, making the spread feel even more abundant. To finish, we had cold buckwheat noodles and warm nurungji (scorched rice). The buckwheat noodles topped with dried seaweed flakes and radish were a light way to wrap up after all that meat, and the warm nurungji soothed the stomach. Going from meat to side dishes, stew and dessert menus, it really felt like a proper full meal.
The bill: under 60,000 won for three, beer included
Three of us ate our fill of meat, a variety of side dishes and full meal menu items, and the total didn't even go over ₩70,000. And we had beer too!!! It didn't even hit ₩60,000... whoa.
Eating this much for about ₩20,000-something per person felt like really great value. Above all, the meat was fresh, it was convenient not having to grill it ourselves, and even the side dishes like the seasoned crab were delicious — overall a satisfaction that exceeded the price.
If you want fresh beef or a hearty meal where you can chat comfortably with friends, I'd recommend Choi Woo-young Gogiya.
