Yeum Hair has white and warm wood-toned interiors with natural light pouring through large windows, so it feels cozy and bright like a café. The moment I opened the door I thought, "Wow, it's so clean and pretty!"

Some salons pack the seats so tightly that you can hear your neighbor's whole conversation, which is awkward, right? At Yeum Hair the seats are spaced widely and comfortably, so I had a really private, relaxed time throughout the treatment. I also loved that every corner of the shop was kept clean.

These days a salon needs more than good hair skills, you know? The lighting is perfect for taking photos. The staff also greeted me so kindly that I was in a good mood even before the treatment began. 🥰

How was the build perm consultation and process?

At Yeum Hair you can choose your designer through Naver Booking, so I booked the senior designer in advance. To tell you the conclusion first: it was an excellent choice.

As soon as I sat down, she checked my current hair condition as carefully as if under a microscope. She asked in detail how I usually dry my hair, how I do home care, even my everyday styling habits. It didn't feel like a factory stamping out the same hairstyle; it felt like being given a design made just for me, and I was moved from the consultation stage.

I told her what style I wanted, and after the consultation we decided on a build perm. She cut carefully, and during the perm she kept doing careful mid-process checks.

Drinks, snacks and charging during the treatment

During the perm, Yeum Hair set out warm drinks, snacks, a phone stand and charging cables for different phone types. Knowing I'd be sitting for a long time, they prepared it all thoughtfully and prettily.

There were so many snacks that picking among them was half the fun. They said I could eat them all, and since dinner time was approaching and I was hungry, I ate a lot, haha. Little touches like this really get to you, don't they?

Sitting in the treatment chair, the open road view and the green trees were a treat for the eyes too.

Is it okay if you're sensitive to chemical smells?

Even with a sensitive nose, the writer felt comfortable throughout the perm at Yeum Hair, because there was almost no harsh chemical smell. My nose is really sensitive, and the strong, harsh chemical smell typical of salons gives me a headache fast.

But maybe because Yeum Hair carefully selects good premium products, there was hardly any harsh smell, and my nose and eyes felt very comfortable the whole time.

The highlight: the scalp massage at the shampoo station

The shampoo chairs at Yeum Hair were almost bed-level comfortable, and the scalp massage with the shampoo felt amazing. Just like that sign says, a happy time began. All the tension in my body melted away.

It felt so good that all my built-up fatigue flew away, so good I worried about the stylist's finger joints, and I wanted to come back for one every single day.

Build perm result: BEFORE & AFTER

The build perm at Yeum Hair came out natural and not overdone, exactly what I wanted. The curls were really bouncy and even, and the amazing part is that I felt almost no damage from the treatment; my hair is actually much softer than before.

At the finish, she generously shared tips for blow-drying at home so the style sets as nicely as it does in the salon, tips even clumsy-handed me can follow easily. She explained everything really thoroughly.
