Gangseo Italian restaurant with abalone pasta: Romaok Magok

In short

Romaok Magok is an Italian restaurant on the third floor of LG Arts Center Seoul in Gangseo, Seoul. I ordered abalone geu pasta for 26,000 won and Eclipse squid ink risotto for 25,000 won, with a choice of regular or lighter seasoning. Verdict: a polished choice for a date or special occasion.

Romaok Magok location and parking

Road leading to Romaok Magok

I searched for Romaok Magok in the navigation app and set off. As you get close, the tall buildings stand densely packed together, but the broad roads still feel quiet.

Entrance to the Romaok Magok parking garage

The parking garage felt similar. I followed the navigation and arrived, but thought, “Huh? Is this really it?” You turn right onto what looks like a bike path and sidewalk, then whip your head to the right and think, “Ah, here it is!” The parking garage sits deep inside off the wide road, so it could be a little confusing on a first visit.

Visit without worrying about parking. The building is large and spacious, and the parking garage was roomy and pleasant too. Parking is free for two hours when visiting Romaok Magok.

Romaok interior with streetlamp decorations

A sophisticated interior with soaring ceilings

Look at those streetlamp decorations on either side of the interior. 😍 As soon as you walk in, the long oval table in the center is stylishly decorated with antique objects befitting the name Romaok.

The high ceiling made it feel wonderfully open. It has an upscale, sophisticated atmosphere, making it great for a date, a birthday or anniversary when you want something special, and even Christmas at year-end.

By lunchtime, nearly all the tables had filled up. There must be a reason it was selected for the Blue Ribbon in both 2025 and 2026. 😊

Tablet ordering and seasoning options

You can order easily using the tablet at the table. I ordered the abalone geu pasta and Eclipse squid ink risotto. When ordering, you can choose either regular seasoning or a lighter option.

Bread is served before the meal. It is chewy inside, crisp outside, and delicious.

Abalone geu pasta

The abalone geu pasta, made with kelp-steamed abalone, garlic scapes, chorizo, geu sauce (abalone innard sauce), and linguine, is ₩26,000. From the moment it was set on the table, I could smell the sea. It was nutty, rich, and deliciously savory. The plump, tender abalone made it even better.

The staff member told me it tastes even better with the garlic scapes. Their crisp texture cut through the richness, so they were a really great match.

Eclipse squid ink risotto

The Eclipse squid ink risotto, made with grilled cuttlefish, squid ink sauce, dill oil, sun-dried tomatoes, and Sindongjin rice, is ₩25,000. The squid ink aroma was incredibly rich. Scooping up the risotto with sun-dried tomato and cuttlefish was delicious.

An outdoor space with city and garden views

No one was seated on the terrace yet, perhaps because it was still being prepared. But it looked like a truly lovely space for an outdoor meal in weather like this. With the open city view and a quiet garden, it seemed perfect for a relaxed meal.
