Gangneung gift café with a women-only restroom floor: Gangneung Sand

If you need a gift on your Gangneung trip, you have to think of Gangneung Sand. Anyone who already knows it knows how famous it is. I visited the Main Branch store in person and bought some, and I'll honestly cover parcel delivery, the other menu items, and finally a real taste review.

Where is Gangneung Sand Main Branch, and is parking easy?

Gangneung Sand Main Branch is a bit away from downtown Gangneung, and I liked that you can visit without worrying about parking. The surroundings are quiet too. It currently runs as a café as well, so you could eat your Gangneung Sand on site and have a coffee.

It has five floors in total, so the building is pretty big, right?

From a hands-on learning room all the way to an observation deck, I think Gangneung Sand Main Branch is a space where you can happily stay a while.

Is the restroom at Gangneung Sand Main Branch clean?

The store was very tidy, and the restroom was especially clean, so it was a pleasure to use! There's also a separate women-only restroom floor, which must be a big plus for women, right?

What flavors does Gangneung Sand come in?

The Gangneung Sand menu is more varied than I expected. There are really many flavors: coffee, dried persimmon, Chodang corn, black sesame, strawberry and sweet potato. What we picked was the most basic one, coffee.

I think this is the kind of packaging that makes people say it's perfect as a Gangneung souvenir. The Gangneung Sand packaging is really neat! It makes you think it's the best return gift from Gangneung.

Personally I thought coffee was Gangneung Sand's most signature flavor, but I wanted to try the others too. Having so many flavors makes it even better.

Besides Gangneung Sand, is there breakwater bread?

Besides Gangneung Sand, the Main Branch also has bread called bangpajebbang (breakwater bread), literally bread shaped like a breakwater, which could make a fun gift. Since it's a famous Gangneung dessert snack, it seems to be released in fun shapes like this too.

Can Gangneung Sand be sent by parcel delivery?

Gangneung Sand Main Branch is set up so you can easily arrange parcel delivery. If you want to send a Gangneung souvenir snack gift by delivery, just order at the store.
