There were so many certificates on the wall—I could immediately tell the owners are seriously hardworking people.

And what really caught my eye was the huge color lineup. At independent salons, it can be awkward when they do not have the color you want, but this place has such a wide range that it is ideal for picking exactly what you are after.

And look at all this monthly nail art..! The staff create a new set every month, and you can tell at once how much effort they put into running the salon. To celebrate the launch of the autumn designs, I decided to switch things up with a style perfect for chilly winds.

I rushed over right at opening time, and Minji was so kind. One of my nails had broken a little, so I worried it would be hard to match the shape, but there was absolutely no need to worry. I had spent a whole day and night fretting over what to do with this nail for nothing.

She naturally recommended a shape that suited me and quickly moved through the care step by step. I already loved everything from the basic care to the shaping, so I could relax and just chat away.

My hands have been very dry lately, so my cuticles were clinging to my nails and lifting everywhere—it was a whole mess. But instead of ripping them off roughly, she removed them smoothly in one continuous line. I have had care done at many places, but I loved every one of these little details.

What I especially loved was that I had picked a style from a photo in advance, but when I held it against my skin, I was not quite sure..! At Hongdae nail salon Byuazeu, they told me I could change to colors that suited me and to choose comfortably, which was so thoughtful. They recommended shades without yellow undertones, and I found a style that suited me even better.

Lately, when gel is applied too thinly, it often starts lifting around the cuticles early and does not last well. Here, they layered it several times for a fuller finish. Even though I chose the least expensive autumn monthly design, they paid close attention to every single nail—so happy.

A few coats, a few rounds under the lamp, and it was over in no time? I arrived with bare nails and no removal needed, yet the whole process took only about 1 hour and 10 minutes because she works so quickly. Saving time too—how great is that?
