Gyodae Station Korean BBQ with group seats and less smell: Gyodaepae
In short
Gyodaepae is a thin-sliced pork belly Korean BBQ restaurant in Seocho, Seoul, about a 3-minute walk from Gyodae Station. After work with colleagues, we ordered the Gyodaepae set (chilled fresh thin pork belly, chilled fresh thin pork neck and thin pork belly), mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in icy broth) and fried rice, and the group seating and ventilation made Gyodaepae comfortable for a get-together. Because the thin meat cooks fast and the conversation never stalls, Gyodaepae is a solid pick for a team dinner near Gyodae Station.

I recently had a great meal at Gyodaepae (교대패) near Gyodae Station: the Gyodaepae set, mul naengmyeon (cold noodles in icy broth) and fried rice! It's a pork belly place that's also a good fit for an after-work get-together with colleagues, haha. Fresh meat grilled fast on the pan, with the nutty thin-sliced pork belly and a nice range of meal dishes working really well together~!
How far is Gyodaepae from Gyodae Station?
Gyodaepae is about a 3-minute walk from Gyodae Station! It's close to the station, so even on my first visit I found it easily without getting lost.

The clean, tidy exterior caught my eye from a distance. Inside, it was a pleasant, spacious room, and it was already full of people!

Is Gyodaepae good for team dinners and group gatherings?
Gyodaepae has seating for larger groups and good ventilation, so I thought it was a great pick for a company dinner, haha. The interior is clean and comfortable, which made it easy to relax over the meal! The overall mood was cozy yet lively, and I was in a good mood the whole time.
With the good ventilation, the meat smell didn't cling heavily to my clothes, so the comfort lasted all the way through!
What's on the Gyodaepae menu?

Looking at the Gyodaepae menu, it's well stocked with thin-sliced pork belly, other cuts of meat and meal dishes! I really liked that the set menus let you try different cuts at a reasonable price. With so many kinds of meat, picking what suits your taste looked like a lot of fun.
What meat comes in the Gyodaepae set?

The Gyodaepae set comes with chilled fresh thin pork belly, chilled fresh thin pork neck and thin pork belly, and that's what we ordered! The meat arrived in a vivid, rosy red, so you could tell at a glance how fresh it was.
Once it's on the pan, the thin slices cook right away with no long wait, which was really convenient, haha.

Watching the thin pork belly turn golden brown on the pan in no time had my mouth watering!

Thin pork belly vs. thin pork neck: how they taste
A piece of well-grilled thin pork belly was soft to chew, and the nutty juices filled my mouth. The chilled fresh thin pork neck was light yet delightfully chewy, with a charm quite different from the pork belly!

There was no gamey meat smell, just a clean taste, and it was hard to put my chopsticks down. Even though it's a cut that can easily get greasy, the fresh meat kept it light rather than heavy. A solid pork belly place near Gyodae Station!
Does Gyodaepae's mul naengmyeon go well with the BBQ?

After grilling and enjoying the meat, we added mul naengmyeon to go with it! The broth, with ice floating on top, was cooling right down to my chest and left my mouth feeling clean.
The chewy noodles and tangy-sweet broth went perfectly with the nutty flavor of the thin pork belly. Wrapping the noodles and meat together and eating them in one bite brought out even more savory depth, haha.
Finishing with fried rice at Gyodaepae

To end the meal, we ordered the fried rice too! Rice stir-fried with the leftover meat fat and kimchi on the pan gave off a wonderfully savory smell. We let the bottom crisp up slightly and scraped it off, and the crunchy texture and flavor were at their best! Fried rice after thin pork belly is a hearty way to finish~!!
Which gatherings Gyodaepae suits best
Gyodaepae was a satisfying place to enjoy fresh thin pork belly and a variety of meal dishes! The big plus is that the thin meat grills quickly, so the meal never lost its flow and we could chat happily while eating.
With its spacious, comfortable atmosphere, it seems like a very good choice for get-togethers with friends or a company dinner. If you're looking for a pork belly restaurant near Gyodae Station with good taste, service and friendliness, give it a visit~!
