Skewer Master in a Nowon board game café room: Hero Board Game Cafe

Hero Board Game Cafe Nowon Branch is a board game café five minutes from Exit 9 of Nowon Station in Seoul, with puzzles, arcade machines and a PlayStation all free to use. In a floor-seating room, a couple played two games — Kkochi-ui Dalin (Skewer Master) and Eomma-ui Simbureum (Mom's Errand) — over snowing onion chicken, peach iced tea and eol-baksa. The rate is 3,000 won per hour and every adult must order one drink, which suited an indoor date that needed more than just a café.

Ikseon-dong Korean BBQ set for two with no weekday wait: Meongseokjip

Meongseokjip Jongno 3-ga Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant with an open-air (yajang) feel in the Ikseon-dong alleys of Jongno, Seoul. Two of us visited on a weekday at an off-peak hour, were seated with no wait, and shared one meongseok set — thick-cut pork that didn't shrink on the grill and green onion kimchi with a fish sauce kick. For anyone on a date around Jongno 3-ga or Ikseon-dong who wants grilled meat, Meongseokjip is an easy recommendation.
