A Magok Korean barbecue restaurant that was easy with a child
I really love meat, but worries about smoke and smells make it hard to visit with a child. Then I found Yeongchun Galbi, a great Magok Korean barbecue restaurant where the meat arrives beautifully browned and fully cooked, so I had to visit.

Parking is available.

The lush green view outside the window was lovely, and the atmosphere had that proper popular-restaurant vibe. The staff were kind and the service was great too, so Yeongchun Galbi was a pleasant place to eat from beginning to end.

Charcoal-grilled meat, fully cooked before it arrives
They grill the meat over charcoal as soon as you order, then bring it to your table. This is not merely a preliminary grill—it arrives 100% cooked and ready to eat, so we could enjoy our meal comfortably without any worries.

Yeongchun Galbi has an open kitchen, so I could see the cooking process at a glance. We ordered one platter of charcoal-grilled marinated black pork, and it was wonderfully filling for one child and two adults!

There was also a wide selection of sides—ramen, yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), noodles, stews, and fried rice—great after the meat or alongside it. Yeongchun Galbi says it cooks carefully using only the finest ingredients; visit once and you might just become a regular :).

A reserved window seat and generous side dishes
Because I reserved ahead, they had set us up at a window seat like this. The banchan (Korean side dishes) were chosen to pair well with the meat, and the spread was generous—every single one was delicious.

Especially, my beloved minari (water dropwort) and tender napa cabbage were such an excellent pairing. From the many homemade side dishes to the special sauce, everything at Yeongchun Galbi was wonderful—there was not one side dish I left untouched.
Seomjin River freshwater snail soybean-paste stew
The Seomjin River freshwater snail soybean-paste stew, said to be loaded with snails raised on antibiotic-free feed, is not optional but essential when you visit Yeongchun Galbi~~ The broth was rich and deeply savory—seriously delicious!

Charcoal-grilled marinated black pork and the special sauce
The charcoal-grilled marinated black pork consists of 500g of marinated meat, green onion, and king oyster mushrooms. It comes with a kimchi ssamjang (fermented soybean dipping sauce) that was Yeongchun Galbi's own special sauce, unlike anything I had tried before. It was so appealing that I kept reaching for it!!

Who knew green onion and king oyster mushrooms could be grilled this deliciously~ As someone who loves vegetables, I liked having vegetables alongside the meat even more.
The galbi arrived cooked and ready to eat. They placed a small candle beneath the grill so we could enjoy it warm right through to the end. Cut into easy bites, yum yum.

They say this is black pork low-temperature aged in marinade for 24 hours, and the tender juices of the lean meat with the pleasantly chewy fat were truly fantastic. The seasoning was not overpowering either, making it excellent to share with a child.

From family meals to Gangseo work dinners
The menu is easy for everyone, young and old, to enjoy. At Yeongchun Galbi, we could eat while chatting comfortably. With Seoul Botanic Park, large shopping malls, and supermarkets nearby, it is easy to visit before or after a meal, making it a perfect Magok date spot too.
I think parents would love it too, it is no problem to visit with a child, and since you do not need to grill the meat yourself, Yeongchun Galbi is also ideal for a company dinner! If you want to enjoy delicious charcoal-marinated black pork said to have been raised in Jirisan's pristine nature, Yeongchun Galbi is just the place~
