Seating arrangement at Flat Nine with a stage view

The seating is arranged so you can see the stage well from any table, so wherever we sat, we could really lose ourselves in the music. Perfect for anyone looking for a Sinnonhyeon date spot or a blind date location! Once the live performance started, the bass, guitar, and drum trio played together so well that it was a real treat for the ears haha.

Each table also thoughtfully had hand cream ready.

What the Classic Course includes for ₩106,000 for two

We sat down and ordered easily via the tablet menu! We chose the Classic Course (2 people / ₩106,000) for a well-rounded meal.

  • Opening drink: Opening Note (Non-Alc) x2
  • Main dishes: White truffle pasta, French vongole au beurre (choice of 2 pastas)
  • Extra drink: Zero-sugar cola

Order complete with a solid lineup! Since it's well-reviewed as a Gangnam Station pasta spot too, I was really looking forward to the courses haha.

First course item, the non-alcoholic Opening Note

Opening note (non-alcoholic), appetizer and bread

First up, the start of the course: Opening Note (Non-Alc)! It comes in an adorable little glass, and the look alone bursts with freshness ㅠㅠ🩵

Raspberry mint non-alcoholic drink in a small glass

Since it's non-alcoholic, it's perfect even for those who can't drink to still enjoy the mood! Taking a sip, the raspberry and mint aroma combined to give my mouth a refreshing wake-up haha.

Appetizer and warm pre-meal bread

Next came the appetizer and pre-meal bread! Dipping the warm, soft, freshly-baked-looking bread into balsamic oil really got my appetite going haha. The appetizer dish felt full of care just from the presentation!

With one bite of the dish served alongside the fresh vegetables, savory flavor spread across my mouth, making me look forward to the next course even more 🤭

Next up was a hash brown-style fried dish, crispy outside and moist inside — a real delicacy!

It was the perfect lineup to enjoy lightly while listening to the music.

French vongole au beurre and white truffle pasta

Finally, the highlight of the course, the two pastas! The French vongole au beurre and white truffle pasta we chose haha.

French vongole au beurre with clams and zucchini

The French vongole au beurre came packed with fresh clams, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes, looking absolutely delicious right off the bat ㅠㅠ The noodles were wonderfully springy, and the oil sauce, rich with clam umami, coated the noodles perfectly, so every bite made me gasp! Truly living up to its reputation as a Gangnam Station pasta spot haha.

White truffle pasta topped with cheese

The white truffle pasta hit me with a deep truffle aroma the moment it arrived 🩵 The look of it — thick, creamy sauce topped with cheese piled up like snow! The luxurious truffle flavor blending with the creamy richness made for a mouthful of happiness 🤭 Eating delicious pasta while listening to the live music felt like getting properly intoxicated by the atmosphere!

Plated sous vide lamb chop steak

Sous vide lamb chop steak and chocolate cake

One of the main dishes of the course, sous vide lamb chop steak! The plating was so elegant it almost felt a shame to eat it ㅠㅠ Thanks to the sous vide cooking method, the lamb was incredibly tender with no gamey smell at all! Paired with the accompanying sauce and garnish, the lamb's natural flavor really came through haha. My ears were treated well, and now my mouth is too 🩵

Chocolate cake served for dessert

The perfect meal ended with a sweet dessert! The chocolate cake came with such pretty plating that it was touching ㅠㅠ The rich, dense chocolate flavor combined with cream and nuts brought the meal to a satisfying close haha.

Who is Flat Nine best for?

Flat Nine turned out to be far more romantic and satisfying than I expected haha. Just being able to enjoy high-level live jazz up close would already be worth it, but I was surprised that every dish in the Classic Course was excellent quality too! It honestly holds its own as a Gangnam Station pasta spot 🩵

Closing shot of the atmosphere at Flat Nine jazz bar

If you want to celebrate a special day with someone you love, or spend a good time with friends somewhere with great atmosphere for both ears and mouth, I highly recommend Flat Nine as a Gangnam Station bar and Sinnonhyeon date spot! I plan to come back for a different lineup and finally try the signature cocktails 🤭
