Sadang pub with crab kkotdori-tang and minari yukhoe: Hansabal Pocha
In short
Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch is a Korean pub (pocha) in Seocho, Seoul, about a 5-minute walk from Sadang Station Line 2 Exit 13 or Line 4 Exit 12, open daily from 16:00 to 02:00. Because a friend can't eat gopchang (beef intestines), we skipped the gopdoritang and ordered kkotdori-tang, a spicy braised chicken stew with blue crab, plus sweet egg toast, an udon noodle add-on and minari yukhoe (beef tartare with Korean water celery). With its unusually crab-packed kkotdori-tang and a spacious room full of round tables, Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch is a great pick for group dinners near Sadang Station.

Inside Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch: atmosphere and seating
Even from outside, Hansabal Pocha has a huge presence haha

When I visited, the whole storefront was wide open and the breeze was drifting through — it felt so good!! This kind of weather really calls for a pocha (street tent bar).

They must be really confident in their gopdoritang to put up a huge electronic sign for it!!! haha

Is Hansabal Pocha good for a group dinner near Sadang Station?
Inside Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch, there's a row of round tables and quite a lot of them. It looked great for larger groups, so if you're looking for a group dinner spot near Sadang Station, this could be it!

And on the interior wall, there's a phrase hanging up like a family motto.
Tomorrow's hangover is the legacy today's self leaves behind.
I have no idea just how good the food must be for them to be preemptively warning about tomorrow's hangover ^^
Hansabal Pocha Sadang menu and QR ordering

There's a big menu board outside Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch, so you can check prices and dishes before heading in.

- 🚨 On your first order, you must order 1 main dish or 2 side dishes!

The basic side dishes were pickled radish and danmuji!

Kkotdori-tang: is there really that much crab?
The main dish we ordered was Hansabal Pocha's kkotdori-tang!! We originally wanted the gopdoritang the restaurant is famous for, but my friend who came with me can't eat gopchang (beef intestines), so we went with the kkotdori-tang made with crab instead. And honestly? Turns out that's a best menu item too?
I've had kkotdori-tang at a few other bars before, and Hansabal Pocha Sadang Branch genuinely had the most crab I've ever seen. It's not one of those places that slaps 'kkot' (crab) on the name but only gives you a couple of pieces — you keep finding more crab as you eat haha. The broth was also spicy and rich, the kind that makes soju go down easy. If you've been searching for dakbokkeumtang near Sadang Station, try the kkotdori-tang too, not just the gopdoritang!!!!

Is the sweet egg toast worth ordering?
If you're at Hansabal Pocha, you've got to get the egg sweet toast too. After eating something spicy like dakbokkeumtang, a bite of the sweet toast is such a good combo. There's a reason it's one of their signature dishes haha. It's perfect to order alongside a main when one dish alone feels like not enough!

Finishing the kkotdori-tang with ₩2,000 udon noodles
Once we'd nearly finished the kkotdori-tang, we added udon noodles!! You know adding udon to a broth like this is basically an unwritten rule... The add-on is ₩2,000, but that ₩2,000 can get you through two more bottles of soju, haha ^^. Slurping down the udon noodles after they soak up all that leftover broth feels like starting the whole meal over again..

Is minari yukhoe a good drinking snack?
We also ordered minari yukhoe (raw beef with water celery) ~~~~ You pop the egg yolk and mix it into the yukhoe (raw beef). It's even better than plain yukhoe because the minari (water celery) fragrance keeps rising up between bites. Also a perfect drinking snack!! We practically cleaned the plate like it was a full meal.
