Yeonnam-dong date restaurant with a bread refill: Hôtel de Couture

Today we want to introduce Hôtel de Couture, a place we found while looking for somewhere to go on a date in Yeonnam-dong!

Hôtel de Couture is a Western restaurant in Yeonnam-dong with a menu that's great for enjoying with a date. It's also a solid pick if you're walking from Hongik Univ. Station toward Yeonnam-dong looking for somewhere to eat, so I wanted to share it!

Inside Hôtel de Couture: pink walls and the menu

The first thing that caught my eye walking in was the pink walls and the pretty little props placed all around. The whole vibe is cute yet stylish, making it a nice place to relax and eat on a date.

The menu had a variety of Western dishes you'd expect — pasta, egg in hell, and more. So many things looked delicious that we agonized over it before finally ordering the honey chunk bacon rosé pasta and the egg in hell.

What does the honey chunk bacon rosé pasta taste like?

This was one of the dishes I was most looking forward to that day, and I remember being surprised by how appetizing it looked. Even the color of the pasta seemed to be shouting, 'I'm delicious, I'm thick and rich!'

I love rosé pasta and have had it at a lot of places, and sometimes when the sauce is too thin, the noodles and sauce feel like they're not really together, which is disappointing. But Hôtel de Couture's rosé pasta has a fairly thick sauce, so it clung to the noodles really well and was so good.

You could really taste the rosé sauce in every bite of the noodles, so I didn't need to dip them in extra sauce at all — every mouthful was great as is. Eating it with the bacon added a salty richness that worked really well together, and as someone who loves pasta, this dish was very satisfying. If you're looking for pasta at a Yeonnam-dong restaurant and you like a thick rosé sauce, I really recommend this one!

Egg in hell and the bread refill at Hôtel de Couture

Egg in hell is also one of my go-to dishes, so I ordered it, and it came with freshly baked bread. It looked so appetizing that I immediately felt good about ordering it.

The egg in hell had a bit of a spicy kick, but it wasn't overwhelmingly hot, so it wasn't too much to handle — if anything, it paired really well with the bread.

At first, I figured I'd just dip the bread that came with it into the sauce and stop there, but the spicy egg in hell sauce and the bread turned out to go together better than expected. We kept dipping and dipping until the bread was gone in no time, so we ended up refilling the bread once more.

If the pasta was thick, soft, and rosé, the egg in hell was a little spicy, so the two were great to eat back and forth. If I come back again, I think I'll order the egg in hell again — it really was that satisfying!

Is Hôtel de Couture a good Yeonnam-dong date spot?

With Hôtel de Couture, what I liked most was being able to enjoy both great food and a great atmosphere at once. In the past, when picking a restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, taste was always the top priority for me, but once you're actually on a date, you realize the atmosphere matters too — somewhere you can take pretty photos and chat comfortably.
