Daegu Western restaurant for chuck flap cream risotto: Resting07

Today I visited Resting07 (레스팅07), a place in Dongseong-ro, Daegu that's famous for its atmosphere. I was meeting a friend downtown for the first time in a while and wasn't sure where to go, then found this place, and everything from the moody interior to the plating was totally my taste. I think it would be perfect for a date, too!

Where is Resting07 in Dongseong-ro, Daegu?

Resting07 is on the 2nd floor of the building at 67 Dongseong-ro 3-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu. It's in the center of Dongseong-ro, so it's easy to get to.

Because it's right in the middle of Dongseong-ro, even I, with my terrible sense of direction, found it quickly. The alley is full of good restaurants and pretty cafés, so access is great.

Resting07 interior, seating and tips for booking a room

When you go up to the 2nd floor, you reach the dining room. It's decorated in a clean, bright white-and-wood tone throughout, so photos come out really pretty.

There were 9 tables in total: 2 by the window, 3 private room tables further inside, and 4 in the central hall.

You can use the rooms without a reservation if there's a spot, but they're popular and may be full, so I recommend booking before you go. I was also told that on weekends they only take reservations for small groups, so choosing your seat may be difficult.

Resting07 iced tea: decorate your own cup

When you order iced tea at Resting07, an empty cup and a marker come out first. We ordered iced tea as our drink, and I was so surprised when they brought us an empty cup and a marker at the start.

It turns out you decorate the cup with whatever words or drawing you like, hand it back to the staff, and they pour the iced tea into it.

Resting07 bread service and grilled chicken salad

Bread was served first at Resting07, fresh from the oven and piping hot, perfect for tearing apart by hand.

The grilled chicken salad (₩8,700) hit my taste so hard I wondered how a salad could be this good.

It comes topped with boneless chicken grilled until the grease is gone, with a rich aioli sauce on the side, and the combination is crazy good. Even people who aren't big on leafy greens will enjoy this one, so I'd say order it without fail.

What does Resting07's Shanghai oil pasta taste like?

The Resting07 Shanghai oil pasta (₩15,700) comes with a generous six or more plump, big shrimp, which I loved.

The flavor is slightly spicy, with a hint of a familiar, delicious ramyeon (instant noodle) taste flashing by, and the savory depth is amazing and addictive.

Salchisal (chuck flap) cream risotto: the best cream risotto I've had eating out

The Resting07 salchisal (chuck flap) cream risotto is number 1 among all the cream risottos I've eaten out!! Seriously so good. I recommend ordering this one too.

The pieces of salchisal are really big too, so you don't need to order a separate steak, haha. If you're looking for a tasty, stylish Western restaurant around Dongseong-ro, definitely visit Resting07!!! I'm 200% coming back.
