Yeonnam-dong café for coffee tasting: Central Site Yeonnam

If you want to enjoy hand-drip coffee in Yeonnam-dong

Among the cafés in Hongdae's Yeonnam-dong, I visited Central Site Yeonnam, which is famous for its excellent hand-drip coffee~! You can even watch a demonstration. Most of all, the coffee was so good that even I, someone who isn't great with acidic coffee, enjoyed it!!! I recommend it as a place that beginners and enthusiasts alike can happily enjoy.

Hours and how to get there

Hours are 08:00–22:00 Monday through Friday and 08:30–22:00 on Saturday and Sunday. From Exit 3 of Hongik University Station, follow the main road at Donggyo-dong intersection straight toward Yeonnam-dong, and it will be on your right. There is a private parking lot a 1–2 minute walk from the café, called Urbanport.

How hand-drip beginners can choose beans easily

They also have cakes that look delicious~ haha. The barista explained the beans in a way that was really easy to understand! So even I, a hand-drip beginner, could choose easily haha.

Smell the beans and watch the hand-drip demonstration

When you order, you can smell the beans and watch them make the hand-drip coffee, which was so fun! Haha. It kind of felt like being at an exhibition, hehe. I loved how the coffee aroma drifted around.

It was even better because they let us compare the aromas of each bean we ordered! It was another day of realizing for sure that I prefer coffee without acidity and with a nutty flavor, haha. But the really amazing thing is that even Central Site Yeonnam's more acidic hand-drip coffee had such a refined flavor and was delicious! Now I understand why people like acidity. I really enjoyed it too.

A café with window seats and a rooftop

The interior was stylish and had such a nice atmosphere, perfect for recharging my mood haha. There is seating on the first floor, plus a second and third floor. The third floor is a rooftop that feels wonderfully open~!! We settled at a second-floor window table with a great view!

The order for comparing the coffees

They brought our ordered items right to our table! That was so convenient and nice too~ The refined glasses and square ice reminded me of whiskey, and the flavor itself was also so sophisticated that even a beginner like me could enjoy it.

They were also so kind: since we were sharing the coffees, they told us the drinking order so we could taste them better!! First, we drank the Ethiopia Nordic Approach Yirgacheffe Chelbesa Washed, which was bright and refreshing with a sweet aroma at the end. I discovered the charm of acidity this time, you know~ But I still don't think I could drink it elsewhere, haha. Because I know it won't taste like this anywhere else... hehe.

The second coffee, Guatemala Entre Volcanes 2026 Washed, had the nutty flavor I love! It was nutty yet sweet, so of course it was delicious~ It was lovely to sip alongside dessert >.<

Classic tiramisu with hand-drip coffee

And when you come to Central Site Yeonnam, you absolutely have to try the classic tiramisu! The harmony of soft, rich mascarpone cream and moist coffee sponge was unbelievable..! It is sweet with a touch of bitterness, and taking a sip of hand-drip coffee with it makes you happy right away. You can enjoy such an elegant tea time here, haha.
