Ansan kimchi jjigae meal kit with nationwide delivery: Choburi Gojan

I went to Choburi Kimchi Jjigae, a stone-pot rice spot known all around Ansan! Kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) is something I eat all the time, but the stew here has a really special taste. That's why it's also often featured as a Gojan Station favorite. With its clean interior and a recipe passed down through three generations, it's the kind of place I stop by every time I'm in Ansan! The staff and owner are super friendly too.

Where is Choburi Kimchi Jjigae Gojan Main Branch, and where do you park?

Choburi Kimchi Jjigae Gojan Main Branch is a kimchi jjigae specialty restaurant on Gwangdeok 3-ro, near Gojan Station in Ansan. Parking is free at nearby public lots on public holidays, and I got lucky finding a spot when I visited.

This isn't the main front entrance but the side one — even though it was still early evening, plenty of people had already arrived!

And because they use certified Korean pork, the self-serve corner is even more delicious and hearty, with all kinds of tasty side dishes to enjoy!

There are lots of restaurants and cafés nearby, plus a park and lots of apartments, so it's a popular spot — there's even a department store, so there's plenty to do before or after your meal.

The smell of stew was drifting out from outside, and the photos on display looked so good it made everything seem extra delicious.

A three-generation recipe and Korean-grown cabbage kimchi

Choburi Kimchi Jjigae follows a same-day-made, same-day-sold policy, and it's even more appealing since it's made with a recipe passed down through three generations! Plus, they use kimchi made from domestic napa cabbage, which made it even more attractive. Their special sauce is also aged for 3 and 72 hours before use!

As a place well known for its stone-pot rice, a lot of people were buying the kimchi jjigae meal kit to take home. It seemed like great value — a generous 3-person portion of stew you can enjoy at home — and even better, they throw in free ramyeon noodles. They also do nationwide delivery, so if you're craving it, keep that in mind!

Since they use 100% domestic kimchi, it's a place you can trust. Sintobuli — local is best!

With their Korean pork sales certificate right there on display, you could tell they take their pork seriously.

Ordering the stone-pot rice, stew and perilla oil fried egg set

At Choburi Kimchi Jjigae, I ordered the set menu with stone-pot rice, stew, a perilla oil fried egg, and unlimited ramyeon noodles! A drink was included too, which was nice for cleansing the palate.

The self-serve corner had side dishes, rice, perilla oil and more all neatly and tidily set out.

Before long, the kimchi jjigae was ready. It was loaded with all kinds of vegetables, chili powder, tofu and pork.

Perilla oil fried egg and unlimited ramyeon noodles

The side dish lineup is great too — I especially recommend the perilla oil fried egg! A spicy, savory kimchi jjigae paired with a fried egg is just the perfect combo. You get your protein and great taste from the egg, then finish it off with the deeply savory stone-pot rice.

Mixing the fried egg into the rice is so good, and it's also great to feed kids if you're visiting with them.

After eating plenty of kimchi jjigae, you've got to add the ramyeon noodles and eat those too!

I like mine on the chewier side, so I cooked it a bit less — this is how I ate it!

I was really hungry, so I enjoyed the kimchi jjigae so much, and finished it off with the stone-pot rice from this Ansan stone-pot rice favorite.

I made sungnyung (scorched-rice tea) with the nicely toasted scorched rice, and eating it together with the leftover kimchi jjigae and gim (seaweed) was a great combination too.

And there's ice cream and coffee for dessert too — the coffee options included americano and milk coffee.

For dessert I had chocolate and vanilla ice cream along with a warm americano! I had such a satisfying meal at Choburi Kimchi Jjigae near Gojan Station in Ansan after a long time, and headed home feeling proud ^^
