What kind of café is Dalgeuraem near Gyesan Station?

Dalgeuraem (달그램) is a new bakery café in a quiet residential area near Gyesan Station in Gyeyang, Incheon. It was open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and what I really recommend, yes!!! is that the bakery is seriously good!? And the drinks were also amazing.

The interior is lovely, starting from the exterior. It felt like visiting a little props shop, and even the entrance had a slightly European vibe?

The entrance is on the right side of the building. I went on a weekend lunchtime with warm sunshine pouring down, and it put me in such a good mood. It had just opened, so everything was clean. There are lots of photo spots, and you can see the owner took care over every detail of the decor.

What drinks and cakes does Dalgeuraem have?

Dalgeuraem has a wide range of drinks, from coffee to tea, ade, juice, latte and more. I picked drinks first as soon as I walked in. Since it's summer, I ordered one cool watermelon juice and one iced americano.

Right next to the drinks were the cakes. There were lots of kinds and each one looked delicious. When I asked, they said everything is made in-house at Dalgeuraem. Look closely and the cakes aren't just topped with fruit; there is fruit and other ingredients between the layers too.

The first cake I chose was one slice of blueberry chocolate cake. Do you see how many blueberries are piled on top!? They don't skimp on ingredients, and every slice is generously loaded. It didn't feel expensive at all.

I was curious about the pumpkin cream cheese cake too. Pumpkin cake!? I don't usually eat it and had never even seen one, so it was new to me. I'd heard of pumpkin rice cake (tteok) cakes, but a real cake was a first, so I was excited.

Does a residential-area bakery have many kinds of bread?

Dalgeuraem had a huge variety of bread too. Since it's in a residential area, I worried the bakery selection might be small, but

there were so many kinds that I actually spent ages choosing, not sure what to eat.

It hasn't been open long, but the pollock roe mayo salt bread (myeongran mayo sogeumppang) is really popular. You absolutely have to get this one. As soon as you arrive, put the pollock roe mayo salt bread on your tray first.

Beyond that, there are breads that go well with coffee and breads that go well with other drinks, and plenty of customers come to Dalgeuraem just to buy bread.

I couldn't try the other breads, but no joke, maybe thanks to the owner's good touch, all the breads sold out quickly. Customers who try one come right back to buy more.

What is the watermelon juice at Dalgeuraem like?

The watermelon juice at Dalgeuraem is ₩6,000 and has a ridiculous amount of fresh watermelon in it. I expected it to be blended and topped with sparkling water, so I was really surprised when it came out.

Besides the watermelon on top, there was watermelon inside the juice too, and the juice itself was blended from watermelon, so the cool, sweet watermelon flavor was incredible. I actually worried about the owner for being so generous with fresh fruit. They give so much, I wonder if there's any profit left... Elsewhere they'd charge ₩8,000 for sure, but at Dalgeuraem you get a proper watermelon juice for ₩6,000.

Is the pollock roe mayo salt bread really that good?

The pollock roe mayo salt bread at Dalgeuraem surprised me after one bite, it was seriously that delicious. I wanted another, got up to buy it, and it had already sold out. Honestly, always pick two pollock roe mayo ones. You will never regret it, it's truly good.

I've decided to come back next time just for the pollock roe mayo salt bread. I didn't try the other breads, but this one alone convinced me the rest must all be delicious too, a guaranteed taste.

Dalgeuraem is less a place to sit in a nice atmosphere and laze around, and more for true bread lovers and people who care about taste! If you do café tours, I recommend putting it on your list.

I don't normally recommend things this much, but everything I tried was delicious, and I hope the owner does so well that they expand to a bigger shop. Seeing the blueberries on the cake, I didn't feel the money was wasted at all.

How do the pumpkin cream cheese cake and blueberry chocolate cake taste?

The pumpkin cream cheese cake at Dalgeuraem has pumpkin as the base of the sponge itself, and it isn't very sweet. I did nothing but marvel the whole time I ate it.

I worried it might be too sweet, but it wasn't very sweet at all; the pumpkin flavor came through nicely overall, and the bits you chew here and there made the texture perfect.

The blueberry chocolate cake even has blueberry jam between the layers, so the chew and the sweetness were both so good.

With a nutty americano to finish, I had a lovely weekend at a very tasty café. Everyone, I really recommend Dalgeuraem near Gyesan Station in Gyeyang, Incheon, before it gets crowded.
