After a weekend lie-in, the writer ordered the jambon jalapeño set with the bread swapped to ciabatta, added an iced oat milk latte and took it outside to eat. The rich handmade ham and gentle jalapeño heat never turned greasy, making Dance Dance Dance a good Hannam sandwich shop for a filling meal that is easy on the stomach.

Hannam hair salon 4.5-hour magic, heat perm and clinic: ONLY FOR YOU

ONLY FOR YOU Hannam Main Branch is a hair salon on Dokseodang-ro near Hannam Ogeori (Hannam Five-way Intersection) in Yongsan, Seoul. To tame semi-curly hair during monsoon season, the writer got a design cut, magic straightening and a digital, setting and iron heat perm, and paid ₩120,000 to add a GM repair (Milbon Repair) clinic; the whole session took 4 hours 30 minutes and cost about ₩340,000. ONLY FOR YOU Hannam Main Branch takes a long time, but the careful cut, detailed explanations and hair that stayed smooth, not frizzy, afterwards made the visit worth it.

Gangnam Station lash salon: fan-shaped curl after a wash, Daet

Daet Gangnam Main Branch is a lash perm and extension salon between Gangnam Station and Yeoksam Station in Gangnam, Seoul. The writer, who has sparse but long straight lashes and sensitive eyes, had a lash perm with designer Rumi on a weekday afternoon; it took 40-45 minutes with no stinging. Right after the perm the lashes looked clumped into idol-style points from the nutrient product, but after washing they spread into a natural fan-shaped curl, making curler-free mornings possible.

Heatwave sushi dinner in Gwanghwamun, extra flounder: Elephant Sushi

Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun is a sushi restaurant on the B1 floor of the KT Gwanghwamun Building, connected to Exit 2 of Gwanghwamun Station in Jongno, Seoul. On a weekday under a heatwave advisory, the writer booked a 5 pm table through Naver and paid ₩69,000 for two: two Elephant B sets, two Del Monte orange juices and 2 extra pieces of flounder. A Naver review also earned free potato croquettes. Elephant Sushi Gwanghwamun serves low-temperature aged sushi from a chef with a high-end sushi background in a ₩28,000 set, making it a good-value sushi spot in Gwanghwamun.

Gangnam waxing salon for a lunch-break Brazilian wax: Super Waxing

Super Waxing Gangnam is a reservation-only waxing salon on the 3rd floor of a building near Exit 11 of Gangnam Station in Seoul.
