Magoknaru Italian restaurant for a wedding invite dinner: Romaok Magok
In short
Romaok Magok is an Italian restaurant on the 3rd floor of LG Art Center Seoul, right by Magoknaru Station in Gangseo, Seoul. Three friends met here to hand out wedding invitations over warm focaccia, abalone geou (innards) pasta, maesaengi (fine green seaweed) scallop risotto and a Korean beef fresh-pasta lasagna roll, with Stella beer, a mojito and Crimson Moon semifreddo to finish. Wide spacing between tables and a calm room make Romaok Magok an easy pick for a group that plans to talk for hours.

One of the things I've been doing every weekend while planning my wedding is going to cheongmo — wedding invitation gatherings — with close friends haha. Since it's also a chance to catch up with people I haven't seen in a while, I always end up looking for places with good food, a nice vibe, and not too noisy. This time we went for a cheongmo to Romaok Magok, a well-known spot near Magoknaru Station. Bottom line up front: the food was great and the space was pretty, so I'd say I picked well for this kind of gathering :)

Where is Romaok Magok? Inside LG Art Center Seoul at Magoknaru Station
Romaok Magok is located inside LG Art Center Seoul near Magoknaru Station.

So it's a great route if you're going to see a show and eat afterward! There's plenty to look around at LG Art Center itself, and Seoul Botanic Garden is nearby too, so it'd make a lovely spot for a full-day date. Next time I want to come back for a show followed by dinner haha.
Is Romaok Magok's dining room right for a wedding invitation dinner?

Walking in, just like the name suggests, it feels like stepping into an old building in Rome. The warm lighting mixed with a slight medieval European feel — not too heavy, but elegant, so the first impression was great.
The table spacing was decent and the mood was calm, so it felt perfect not just for dates but for family meals, friend gatherings, or cheongmo where you need to talk a lot! Another table nearby was actually having their own wedding invitation gathering too haha — guess everyone has similar taste🤍
What's on the menu at Romaok Magok

They had a variety of set menus with good-value combos! Appetizers, pasta, risotto, steak — the menu variety was really wide.
Romaok Magok's warm focaccia sets the tone

Even the focaccia that came out while we waited for the mains was amazing. It arrived warm, slightly chewy on the outside and really soft and moist inside. You know how when the bread before the meal is good, you can't help but get excited for the mains? We took one bite and immediately said "this place is going to be good," and honestly, the whole meal delivered.

Abalone geou pasta: rich, creamy and deeply savory

First up, the abalone geou (abalone intestine) pasta! You could really taste the distinct savory, deep aroma of the abalone intestines. The sauce was creamy while the umami from the abalone intestines really came through — if you like seafood pasta, you'll probably love this. It wasn't heavy, the savory flavor was strong, and I kept going back for more. All three of us agreed it was delicious and really cleaned our plates :) If you're looking for a Magoknaru restaurant and want something a bit special, I'd recommend this one.
Maesaengi scallop risotto, a seaweed pairing I tried for the first time

Then the one I was quietly most curious about — the maesaengi (seaweed) scallop risotto. Risotto with maesaengi in it isn't exactly a common menu item, so I was curious how it would taste, and it turned out more elegant and delicious than I expected. The subtle aroma of maesaengi paired really well with the soft risotto. Adding scallops on top brought in more of an ocean flavor and really lifted the whole dish! It had a totally different charm from the abalone geou pasta, so I was glad we ordered both. My friends thought this dish was unusual and delicious too, and we all enjoyed it haha.
Korean beef fresh-pasta lasagna roll for ragu lovers

And finally, the star of the show — the Korean beef fresh-pasta lasagna roll! Honestly, lasagna is a dish that's hard to make bad in the first place, but this one had ragu sauce made with Korean beef, which took the flavor to another level. There was a generous amount of beef, so the meat presence was much stronger than in a regular lasagna. My friends and I joked it kind of felt like eating a fancy hamburger steak and lasagna at the same time haha. That's how soft and rich the meat flavor was. With the tomato-based ragu sauce added, it was both hearty and rich — of the three dishes, this was honestly my favorite. If you feel like just pasta isn't enough at a Magoknaru restaurant, order the lasagna roll too.
Stella beer and a mojito alongside the pasta

For drinks we ordered Stella beer and a mojito. Stella is, well... you can't really go wrong with it haha. The cold beer paired really well with rich dishes like the pasta and lasagna. The mojito was sweet with a refreshing hit of mint, perfect for setting the mood. Rather than just eating seriously the whole time for a cheongmo, having a light drink like this while chatting made it even better :)
Crimson Moon semifreddo, the dessert that finished the night

To finish, we tried the Crimson Moon semifreddo. It's a dessert made with caramelized nuts, dried fruit, and Italian meringue, and my first impression was that it was like a soft pudding. Sweet and smooth, with bits of nut texture throughout so it never got boring — really delicious. There we were, saying we were full but still finishing the dessert together haha. A perfect end to the wedding invitation gathering🤍
Honest verdict on dinner at Romaok Magok
The food at Romaok Magok was really good this time, but personally what I loved most was the atmosphere of the space. It has the feel of an upscale restaurant with a great vibe, but it's not so formal that it's intimidating — perfect for having a pretty dinner and long conversations with friends! Seeing another table doing their own wedding invitation gathering while I was there made it feel extra fitting haha. If you're planning your wedding like me and trying to figure out where to have a cheongmo, I'd recommend this place — it's also great for dates or family meals.
Since it's inside LG Art Center, it's especially convenient to visit before or after a show, and it also works well paired with a date at Seoul Botanic Garden, so I'd recommend it if you're looking for restaurants near LG Art Center or Seoul Botanic Garden. As for the food, personally the abalone geou pasta, maesaengi scallop risotto, and Korean beef fresh-pasta lasagna roll were all wins. If you want to eat something special in a great atmosphere, Romaok Magok near Magoknaru Station is worth a visit 🫶🏻 Next time I want to come back for a date that combines an LG Art Center show with dinner :)
