Yangpyeong butcher shop: cauldron-lid pork belly BBQ, Jeongyuk Mart

Jeongyuk Mart (정육마트) is a butcher shop near Yongmun Station in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi, where freshly slaughtered meat comes in every Thursday. The blogger Somits bought 1++ hanwoo (Korean beef) special cuts, pork belly and vegetables at Jeongyuk Mart and was also given sauces and herb salt for a countryside getaway BBQ. The pork belly grilled on a cauldron lid was so good that the hanwoo main course went partly uneaten, making Jeongyuk Mart a satisfying stop for countryside BBQ meat.

Ikki Roll Katsu Garosu-gil Main Branch is a Japanese-style katsu restaurant known for rolled katsu, located on basement level 1 of the Seongmi Building on Garosu-gil near Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul. Two diners ordered Couple Set B with flying fish roe roll katsu, rosé katsu, flame-grilled brisket jjolmyeon (chewy spicy noodles) and an apple mango ade, and the flying fish roe roll katsu topped with orange dressing got more addictive with every bite. With a self bar offering unlimited soup, rice, pickled radish and shredded radish, plus a meeting room for groups, Ikki Roll Katsu is worth recommending for both dates and gatherings.
