Bone-broth vs white jjampong at Omokgyo Station: Yugwanjang Banjeom
Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch is a 24-hour Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building 67 meters from Exit 2 of Omokgyo Station in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. On a weekend evening the writer and his wife ordered the jjinsagol seafood jjampong (beef bone-broth seafood noodle soup) and the yongdaeri hwangtae jjampong (dried pollack noodle soup) together to compare the thick, fiery bone broth against the clear, clean white broth, with a mini tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) on the side. Yugwanjang Banjeom is a good place to settle whether you prefer red jjampong or white.
