Gangneung window-seat sashimi set for two, ₩70,000: Samsami-ne
Samsami-ne Gyeongpodae Main Branch is a sashimi restaurant near Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung, next to the St. Johns Hotel, with 25 years of serving red sea bream yubiki (thin-sliced raw fish). After a first round of kaljjebi (hand-torn noodle soup) upstairs in the same building, the writer came down to a window table at Samsami-ne and ordered the value assorted sashimi set for two at 70,000 won, which arrived with vinegar-gochujang mulhoe (cold raw fish soup), a stone-bowl steamed egg and a generous side dish spread. It is an easy, good-value seafood stop to slot into a Gyeongpodae travel course.
