Yeonnam-dong pizza place for weekend dinner with a friend: Sunny's

My friend and I decided to grab dinner in Yeonnam-dong on a weekend evening. Yeonnam-dong has so many good restaurants that it took us forever to decide where to go haha. Then I remembered Sunny's Pizza Market, which I'd bookmarked ages ago, so we finally checked it out.

When it comes to pizza, I always have trouble picking just one menu item. I want pepperoni, but I also want potato… I'm the type who can never give up either, so if a place offers a half-and-half option, I basically always order that way haha.

This time too, we ordered a pepperoni + potato half-and-half pizza along with a basic draft beer. Let me walk you through how it went!

Sunny's Pizza Market is located on the 2nd floor of a building in a Yeonnam-dong alley. It's not on a main street, so first-time visitors might find it easier with a map app open. Still, once you spot the sign, it wasn't hard to find. We visited on a weekend evening and were lucky enough to be seated right away.

The lighting had more atmosphere than I expected, so it seems like a good spot for a date with your boyfriend too!

Looking at the menu, there were more options than I expected, which made me hesitate again. But since we'd already decided to get a half-and-half pizza before even arriving, we didn't overthink it haha. Here's what we ordered:

And of course, no pizza is complete without a basic draft beer, so we ordered that too. We came here specifically for pizza and beer on a weekend evening with a friend, so there was no way we were skipping this!!!

How generous was the cheese on the half-and-half pizza?

After a short wait, our pizza arrived, and the first thing that caught my eye was the cheese. It was piled on much more generously than I expected from photos, and it looked really appetizing. I'm someone who loves cheesy pizza, so this was exactly my taste haha.

🍕 Pepperoni

I tried the pepperoni side first. The salty pepperoni paired well with the savory cheese, giving it that solid, classic pizza feel. It was a comforting flavor I kept reaching for, and it went perfectly with the draft beer.

🥔 Smooth potato

The potato side had a completely different vibe. With the potato mixed in, it felt softer, and it went really well with the cheese too. Eating only pepperoni might have gotten a bit monotonous, but switching to potato in between kept things interesting all the way through. I was glad I'd ordered half-and-half again haha.

Personally, what I liked most was still the cheese. There was so much of it that the whole pizza had a rich, savory flavor, and both toppings paired well with it. The pepperoni was delicious, and so was the potato, so it was hard to pick just one. It was a satisfying meal overall.

Chatting with my friend over a slice of pizza and a beer on a weekend evening made for a nice atmosphere and an even more enjoyable meal time!!!

If you're looking for a good pizza spot in Yeonnam-dong, this place is worth a visit. Especially if you're like me and struggle to pick just one menu item, the half-and-half option will make you even happier. The pepperoni and smooth potato combo we ordered worked really well together, and with all that cheese, cheese lovers will be especially satisfied. It was also a comfortable spot for dinner with a friend and a casual draft beer, so it's somewhere I'd like to stop by again whenever I'm craving pizza in Yeonnam-dong :)
