Gangneung makguksu lunch before Shilla Monogram check-in: Samgyori

Samgyori Dongchimi Makguksu Namhangjin branch (삼교리동치미막국수 남항진점) is a dongchimi makguksu (buckwheat noodles in radish water kimchi broth) restaurant in Namhangjin, Gangneung. A couple and their elementary-school child put their names on the Catch Table remote waitlist for a weekday lunch before checking in at Shilla Monogram Gangneung, then shared a large suyuk (boiled pork), one pollock sashimi makguksu and one Hetbahn instant rice; the child devoured the pork and rice, and the noodles tasted fantastic once dressed with the seasoning sauce and perilla oil. Samgyori Dongchimi Makguksu Namhangjin branch is a makguksu restaurant worth returning to for a family lunch in Gangneung with kids.

Siheung Korean BBQ, family of three: large galbisal platter at Daehwa

Daehwa Sutbul Garden Siheung Janggok Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant in Janggok-dong, Siheung, Gyeonggi, serving Gyeongju-style beef short rib marinated fresh to order. A family of three ordered the large galbisal platter, which came with beef seaweed soup, chamnamul wraps, tortillas and kkoldeuppaegi, followed by chicken knee cartilage, homemade sausage, kalguksu and ice cream. Because the meal flows like a full course rather than a single plate of short rib, Daehwa Sutbul Garden makes a very satisfying family dinner in Janggok-dong.
