This is Degree Gojan Branch (디그리 고잔점), a café in Gojan New Town where my partner and I stopped by on a weekday date in Gojan-dong, Ansan. It's a revisit, and it's one of the best-known cafés in Gojan New Town! The bakery items are baked right in the shop, there are lots of kinds and they're delicious, so I'd recommend it if you're looking for desserts in Gojan-dong too! It's famous for its jambon-beurre (ham and butter baguette sandwich).

This Gojan New Town café is in the Lotte Cinema building, on the main road by 25si Plaza!
Parking at Degree Gojan Branch: where to go when it's full
You can park in either Building A or B of the Lotte Cinema complex, with 2 hours of free parking. But it's often full, weekday or weekend. When that happens, I recommend the public parking lots in front of AW Wedding Hall or Daerim Plaza!
We parked there this time too. The fee is cheap, there's plenty of space, and it's only a 2-minute walk from Degree!
Inside Degree Gojan Branch and seating
The shop is fairly big and has a nice atmosphere, so I'd recommend it for a date in Gojan-dong, Ansan.

There are lots of seats in different styles, yet even though we came on a weekday, the place was packed. The chairs aren't exactly comfortable, but they weren't uncomfortable either.
When bread comes out at Degree Gojan Branch
Degree in Ansan has a bakery inside the shop, so all the bread is made on site! Different breads come out at different times of day.

- 8:00: croissant, pretzel, scone, baguette, jambon-beurre
- 9:00–10:00: brioche, chocolate escargot, 3 kinds of croissant, sausage pastry, scallion cream cheese, bagel
- 11:00–12:00: salt bread, 2 kinds of ciabatta, baguette, kouign-amann (weekends)
- 12:00–13:00: jambon-beurre, rucola (arugula) cream cheese
- 15:00–16:00: croissant, brioche, chocolate escargot, salt bread, sausage pastry, jambon-beurre, rucola
The bread differs by time, and fresh-out-of-the-oven bread tastes best, so I'd suggest timing your visit. I ate the salt bread right when it came out and fell for Degree all over again 💗

What we ordered at Degree Gojan Branch and the prices
This time I picked a choco baguette (₩6,000) and a sweet potato choux salt bread (₩5,500). The variety of baked goods is really, really wide! The most famous recommendation at Degree is the jambon-beurre, but we'd just eaten a meal, so I went for other things.

For drinks, I ordered the most famous one, watermelon juice (ttaengmoban), plus an iced Americano.

Soon everything we ordered came out. We asked for the bread to be sliced.

How does the sweet potato choux salt bread taste?

If you like sweet potato, I really recommend Degree Gojan Branch's sweet potato choux salt bread! It's filled with sweet potato cream and dusted all over the outside with sweet potato powder, and since it's a salt bread (a buttery roll with a salty crust), the sweet-and-salty balance was great.

How was the choco baguette?

This is the choco baguette that's trending these days. You usually think of baguettes as plain in flavor, but Degree's choco baguette has a rich chocolate taste too, and the baguette isn't just hard, it's chewy, so it's easy to eat. I've been obsessed with choco baguettes lately, and for me this place is number one.

Degree's watermelon juice (ttaengmoban)
And the watermelon juice is a must if you visit Degree! There's watermelon flesh on top, and it feels like eating the watermelon itself!
Is Degree Gojan Branch a good date café in Gojan-dong?
At Degree in Gojan New Town, whatever you pick, whenever you go, you'll never go wrong! The shop has a nice atmosphere and everything on the menu is delicious, so I recommend Degree Gojan Branch when you're looking for a date café in Gojan-dong.
