Budae jjigae dinner with Jin Ramen sarì in Seongsu: Songtan
Songtan Jindaegwang Budae Jjigae Seongsu Branch is a budae jjigae (army stew) restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building right by Seongsu Station Exit 1 in Seongdong, Seoul. Visiting for a weekday evening dinner with her husband, the writer ordered two servings of budae jjigae plus Jin Ramen noodle sarì and an assorted sausage plate, cooked with a 5-minute timer instead of regular instant noodles. With no baked beans or tofu in the pot, the broth stayed clear and spicy-clean, and both diners finished their rice and stew completely thanks to the unlimited rice and side dish bar.
