Lately I've been into trying things I've never done in my life! I heard there was a quirky light aircraft (hang glider) experience in Boryeong, Chungnam, so while on a trip to Daecheon I booked it and went!
Where is Albatross Aviation in Boryeong?
Albatross Aviation is a light aircraft experience airfield in Nakdong-ri, Cheonbuk-myeon, Boryeong-si, Chungcheongnam-do. I arrived right on time for my reservation, and just following the navigation by car led straight into a wide-open airfield!

I booked the 9am first flight of the day! The weather was clear that day, thank goodness..! The clouds were pretty too, and since it was morning it was nice and cool, which got me all excited!
How much is the Boryeong ultralight flight, and how do you book?
Albatross Aviation's light aircraft experience runs on a 100% reservation system. You can easily book ahead through Naver! Slots are available in hourly units.
The price is ₩150,000 for adults aged 14 and up! Anyone 6 or older can ride! That makes it a great offbeat experience with kids too, don't you think? Filming is a separate add-on for ₩20,000.

This light aircraft experience has already been filmed for 1 Night 2 Days! I saw that Moon Se-yoon rode it too — wow.
While I sipped the delicious coffee the owner made for me, we watched the 1 Night 2 Days clip and other footage together, and he walked me through the West Sea flight route and the overall flow, which loosened up my nerves a little!
After signing the experience flight waiver and consent form..! And finishing the safety briefing! Now off to the airfield we go~

Today's aircraft I'd be riding is what's called a hang glider, a motorized aircraft! Max 2 seats (pilot + me).
Two cameras total were set up. The pilot's camera (by the wing) and my camera in selfie mode (facing forward).

The pilot was diligent about taking photos before the flight too, so kind! Honestly, photos are all that's left afterward, right?
Now with the safety gear on..! Ready to fly off over the West Sea! Eek!

Everyone... I flew through the sky!!! I was a little scared going up at first, but once we were up there..! Boryeong spread out beautifully before my eyes, just a genuinely moving moment ✨
This is what the West Sea looked like from where I was... how pretty it is from the sky! You really have to try it to know for sure!
My eyes were absolutely dazzled for about 20 minutes..! So grateful and happy to have such a wonderful experience in life 🩵💙✈️

On the Albatross Aviation flight, the West Sea tour happens while chatting with the pilot! It's not just flying — he introduces the pretty spots one by one, Daecheon's islands and West Sea landmarks, which made it even better :)

Partway through there's also time where I got to control the hang glider myself! Haha, I was a bit nervous, but I got praised for doing well. Thumbs up!
Later I got so used to being up in the sky that I was waving and doing peace signs, totally hyped and having a blast! Haha

If you're looking for something special and fun in Boryeong, Chungnam, I really want to recommend the light aircraft experience! The sea and scenery of Boryeong that you thought you knew feel truly new and beautiful from up in the sky, seriously!
