Cordless fabric shaver for black knit dresses: Panasonic NI-LR002

In winter, knitwear pilling was always on my mind. Black knits and dresses especially can look worn as soon as they get even a little pilling. This time, I tried the cream Panasonic cordless fabric shaver NI-LR002.

When choosing the product, I considered my trust in the brand, a cordless design without a bothersome cable, and the cream-colored look.

The box included the main unit, a charging cable, a cleaning brush, and a user manual.

In person, it was a soft cream tone with hardly any yellow in it. The matte surface did not show fingerprints while I used it, and it felt nice in my hand too. I liked the design, so I found myself reaching for it more often.

After reading the manual, I found the operation simple too. It was easy to use with just one button.

Did it remove pills from a black knit dress well?

My often-worn black knit dress is made from a material that pills easily, so it was always something I noticed. That day, I used the fabric shaver before putting on the dress.

Afterward, the pills were tidied up and the dress looked much neater. I did not see damage to the fabric on the dress I used, and it felt more like the surface was smoothed out than the pills were pulled off.

The clean collection compartment filled up with black pills. It felt as though the pilling was removed from an area after one pass, without having to go over the same spot repeatedly.

How were cordless use and the noise level?

Because it is cordless, I could use it right away in front of the closet, on the bed, or in the living room without looking for an outlet. The cream-colored unit did not feel obtrusive even when left out in plain sight.

The noise felt quieter than I expected, and by my standards, it seemed comfortable enough to use at night. It was light and fit in one hand, which made it convenient for quickly tidying clothes before going out.

The product specifications in the original post were 8,500 rpm, a six-blade structure, a weight of about 200 g, and a size of 9 cm. It was introduced as usable on coats and cashmere as well as knits, but the garment whose use I specifically documented this time was a black knit dress.

What are the charging method and run time?

USB-C charging was convenient. It is said to run for up to 60 minutes on one charge, though I did not record a timed test myself. The retailer introduced in the original post was Coupang.

Comparing before and after, I was pleased that the pills were removed while the knit texture still looked intact. I worried that the pills would stand out even more on black clothing, but after tidying them up, I could wear the dress neatly again.
