Geumcheon Chinese restaurant: Jinjin China’s seafood jjamppongbap

In short

Jinjin China Geumcheon Siheung Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Siheung-dong, Geumcheon, Seoul, between Seoksu and Geumcheon-gu Office stations. I had samsun jjamppongbap, gan-jjajang, and tangsuyuk; the smoky, deeply flavored seafood broth and crisp fried pork stood out.

At Jinjin China Geumcheon Siheung Branch (진진차이나 금천시흥점) in Siheung-dong, Geumcheon-gu, I had samsun jjamppongbap (seafood spicy noodle soup with rice), gan-jjajang (freshly stir-fried black bean noodles), and tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork). Of the three, I especially remembered the rich, smoky broth of the samsun jjamppongbap, which came with seafood and glass noodles.

Where is Jinjin China Geumcheon Siheung Branch, and is parking available?

The restaurant is between Seoksu Station and Geumcheon-gu Office Station, close to the Siheung Distribution Complex and Soha-dong. Its address is Unit 102, 1st floor, 106-1 Siheung-daero, Geumcheon-gu, Seoul. At the time of my visit, about two cars could park in front of the restaurant. Parking nearby was also mentioned, but the original post did not give specific locations or terms of use.

What was the dining room like for a family meal?

The interior was tidy and well kept. I thought it would work well for a meal alone, as a pair, or with family. High chairs were also available.

What did we order together?

The menu included Chinese dishes such as jjamppong, gan-jjajang, and tangsuyuk. We ordered samsun jjamppongbap, gan-jjajang, and tangsuyuk so we could try a broth dish, noodles, and fried food together. The food came with basic side dishes, and the overall spread felt generous.

How were the broth and ingredients in the samsun jjamppongbap?

The red, slightly thick broth had plenty of seafood, including squid and shrimp, along with vegetables. On my first sip, I noticed a strong smoky wok aroma and deep savory flavor. It suited my taste because I enjoy spicy, rich broths.

I first picked out the glass noodles and seafood, then mixed in the hot rice. Being able to enjoy the ingredients first and the rice in the broth afterward made it feel satisfying.

How sweet was the gan-jjajang, and what was its texture like?

I poured the freshly stir-fried gan-jjajang sauce over the noodles and mixed them together. The noodles were chewy yet soft, and the generous onion and meat gave it a pleasant bite. The crunch of the onions worked well with the nutty flavor of chunjang (Korean black bean paste), and it was not overly sweet, making it easy to finish.

Was the tangsuyuk good alongside the other dishes?

The tangsuyuk had thick pieces of meat inside a golden, crisp coating. Dipped in the sweet-and-sour sauce, it had a crisp exterior and a tender texture within. It paired well with the samsun jjamppongbap and gan-jjajang.

With all three dishes, I enjoyed rich broth, noodles with crisp onions, and crunchy fried food. On another visit, I would order the samsun jjamppongbap and tangsuyuk again.
