Cleansing balm for dry skin, 2-week test: HEEDA Jirisan Charcoal

How did it feel on very dry skin?

I was concerned that strongly cleansing products would leave my skin feeling tight, while moisturizing products seemed to leave a slippery residue. I tried this cleansing balm for about two weeks on my very dry winter skin, which felt stiff and tight.

Even on days when I applied it straight to a cold face, it emulsified smoothly on my skin. The product is described as containing jojoba seed oil, so I used it with my own needs in mind: dryness within the skin and tightness after cleansing.

Did it remove makeup well?

Its black solid-balm texture felt unfamiliar at first. Although it was firm, it emulsified smoothly when spread over my face, and it cleanly removed the blush and foundation I had worn.

I found it difficult to judge effects described on the product site, such as improving pores or uneven texture, based on my skin condition alone. Rather than concerns about uneven texture, I focused on the texture on very dry skin and how my skin felt after cleansing.

Were the container and spatula convenient to use?

There is a separate lid for storing the spatula, which made it easy to keep my vanity organized. Compared with placing the spatula on top of the container, I worried less about dust or it looking untidy.

Would it be worth considering as a gift?

The black-and-white box and the insert inside the case gave a neat impression. If you exchange gifts with friends at the end of the year, I thought a cleansing product could be one gift option.

My overall verdict after two weeks

After using it for about two weeks, I was satisfied with its cleansing power and the way it emulsified. If you have dry skin and care about post-cleansing tightness as much as makeup removal, it may be worth checking whether the feel suits your own skin.
