Nopo Dwaeji Aewol is a black pork barbecue restaurant near Gwakji Beach in Aewol, Jeju. Visiting on a Friday evening with a reservation for three, the writer ordered 600g of black pork geungogi (thick-cut pork) and Jeju yellow crab doenjang stew, with staff grilling pork belly and neck on charcoal and cutting them to size. Dipped in breadcrumb salt and melजeot (fermented anchovy sauce), the pork disappeared faster than usual — a solid stop to add to an Aewol itinerary.
