Yeongdeungpo izakaya for yakisoba and nabe: Nani Yeouido

I visited Nani Yeouido Branch for dinner during a date in Yeouido. The yakisoba (Japanese stir-fried noodles) and chadol tantan nabe (beef brisket spicy sesame hot pot) worked well together, and both portions were larger than expected. However, the route up to the restaurant inside the building was confusing, so I’ll start with how to get there.

How do I get to Nani Yeouido Branch from Yeouido Station?

The restaurant is on the third floor of the S-TRENUE Building. After leaving Yeouido Station through Exit 3, walk until just before the crosswalk and you will see the building sign. Turning back to the right from there, I found an escalator.

You can take the escalator to the third floor. There is also an option to take the escalator to the second floor and then use an elevator, but taking the escalator all the way up seemed easiest to me.

Is parking available, and how do I get up from the underground garage?

Parking was available and listed as free for two hours. However, when I used it, the route was complicated because each elevator served different floors and had different access methods. From B2, I could go directly to the third floor where the restaurant is, but from B3 I had to transfer.

From B3, I took an emergency stairway up to B2, then used the elevator. I could not use the other entrances I checked because they either did not allow re-entry from outside or required a password and key card. There were several doors leading to stairways, so it took some care to find the right one.

After reaching B2, I took the inner elevator to the third floor. There were signs pointing toward Nani here, and following them led me to the restaurant.

Are there plenty of seats, and can I make a reservation?

Once inside, the restaurant was larger than I expected. When I visited on a Thursday, there were a few empty tables, and the range of seating arrangements looked suitable for groups too. It was also listed as accepting reservations.

What did I order, and how much was it?

There were many food and drink options, so choosing took a little time. We ordered yakisoba for ₩29,000 and chadol tantan nabe for ₩35,000.

At the time of my visit, there was also an event offering yogurt ice cream for writing a review. The complimentary snacks appeared to be seasoned seaweed and hardtack crackers. The seaweed was seasoned just right, while the crackers tasted as though they had been dusted with cinnamon, and I kept reaching for them.

When our food arrived, the portion size was the first thing that surprised me. We had chosen these dishes for two people, but there was more than I had expected.

How spicy was the chadol tantan nabe, and what did it taste like?

I thought the broth might be rich because it contained beef brisket, but it was cleaner and lighter than expected. As it bubbled away while we ate, a sharp, tingling heat gradually came through.

For me, it was closer to a sharp, tingling broth than a deeply spicy one. I am not particularly good with spicy food, but it was not too much to eat; I only found myself taking light breaths as I ate.

Was the yakisoba good with the nabe?

The yakisoba used thicker noodles than I expected, and I liked their texture. The vegetables were cooked enough to retain a bite and went well with the sauce. Alternating between the sweet yakisoba and the sharp chadol tantan nabe made for a good combination.

Next time, I would like to try the lamb shoulder rack. I did not order it this time; the price noted in the original post was ₩43,000 for three pieces, with an additional rack for ₩14,000.

What are the opening hours and closed day?

The hours I noted after my visit were Monday through Saturday, 5 PM to 2 AM the following day. Last order was listed as 1 AM, and the restaurant was listed as regularly closed on Sundays.
