The writer, who has monolids, got a moisturizing clinic lash lift with a curl rounder than a C-curl at Moodmoa Lash & Brow, felt no eye irritation during the treatment, and still had a natural curl a week later. Bundang raw fish spot for summer mulhoe and oysters: Pohang Makhoe

Pohang Makhoe is a raw fish restaurant near Jeongja Station in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, specializing in Pohang-style wild makhoe (roughly sliced raw fish). Two diners walked in early one evening and shared the medium wild makhoe (39,000 won), a single-serving mulhoe (cold raw fish soup, 16,000 won) and Geoje Island fried oysters (12,000 won). The writer found the Pohang way of eating it fresh: two kinds of flounder, hong-gajami and mul-gajami, tossed with seaweed, vegetables and chojang (spicy vinegar gochujang sauce), then wrapped in perilla leaves. Pohang Makhoe is a good Jeongja Station pick for cool summer mulhoe and crispy oysters, but it fills up quickly in the evening, so book ahead.

Anguk date restaurant with self-serve parmesan: Low Five Anguk

Low Five Anguk is a casual Western restaurant on Bukchon-ro in Jongno-gu, Seoul, known for its corn pizza. On a date after taking a half day off, two diners ordered three dishes: a half-and-half pizza (corn + Tex-Mex taco) for 26,000 won plus 1,000 won, vongole pasta for 18,000 won and a classic Caesar salad for 12,000 won, with parmesan cheese powder from the self-serve bar shaken over the pizza. The corn pizza hit the sweet-and-salty mark, and even the Caesar salad, ordered with no expectations, was finished to the last bite.
