Tired of an awkward grow-out length and summer frizz, the writer got a magic straight perm and a bob cut from senior designer Sunjeong at Yeojin Hair Atelier and ended up with the Kim Na-young-style bob length and thinned-out volume she wanted. If you want a magic straight perm and a bob cut done in one visit in Daegu, Yeojin Hair Atelier is worth considering.

Oneuldo Gajami is a wild flounder sashimi restaurant on Haean-ro, facing Yeongildae Beach in Pohang. A family with a child sat indoors with the doors flung open and shared small wild flounder sashimi, squid and flounder fritters and the spicy fish stew that comes with the sashimi, over somaek (soju mixed with beer); the family loved the thick, springy slices and the fritters the child happily ate. Oneuldo Gajami is worth it for a Yeongildae dinner that delivers on taste, a sea-breeze patio feel and value all at once.

26do Hair Suseong Branch (26도헤어 수성점) is a hair salon in Suseong, Daegu, in the building right next to the Suseong 1-ga-dong community center. After nearly a year without dye, the writer's hair had turned red and orange, so Director Seoyun gave it a blue-black tone-down color while the writer's child got a first-ever perm alongside. Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang (갈릴리대게회식당) is a snow crab and sashimi restaurant inside Jukdo Market in Pohang. A Pohang native booked ahead, arrived at 5 p.m. on a weekday and ordered the small mixed sashimi platter (mixed platters from 60,000 won). The meal came with a spread of gejang (marinated crab), corn cheese, sea squirt, abalone, conch and muchim-hoe (spicy raw fish salad), thick-cut flounder and sea bream sashimi, and spicy fish stew. Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is known for snow crab, but its mixed sashimi platter and the owner's attentive care are just as satisfying.

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch (부엌간 차이니즈 마린시티점) is a second-floor Chinese restaurant in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan, where diners eat with views of Gwangan Bridge and the sea. On this visit the blogger's husband wanted jjamppong (spicy noodle soup), so they ordered beef jjamppong, chili ganjajang (dry-fried black bean noodles) topped with a poached egg, plain jajangmyeon and tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork), with beer on the side. Dongbaekseom Island and The Bay 101 are within walking distance of Bueokgan Chinese, which makes it a good stop on a Haeundae date.
