One weekday evening my husband and I went for beef at Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch (국민한우집 삼성역본점), near Samseong Station! It's very close to Coex, the Trade Center and the InterContinental hotel, so it's easy to get to, and we were really happy to taste hanwoo (Korean beef) at a reasonable price.
Where is Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch, and where do you park?

The restaurant is at 15 Teheran-ro 86-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul (1st floor), in an alley off Teheran-ro near Samseong Station, so public transport gets you there easily! If you drive, you can park in a nearby public car park, and after 7 pm parking is free, so even in the middle of Gangnam there's no parking stress.
We booked ahead on Naver, so we were shown straight to our table with no waiting!
Inside Gungmin Hanwoo House: good for a group dinner?

The whole restaurant was clean, tidy and pleasant. The tables are spaced quite far apart, so it looked like a comfortable place to eat with your group without worrying about the people around you.

It's spacious and neat enough that I thought it would be perfect for office dinners or lunches in the area, and the vibe works for a solo meal or a date too! The staff were all friendly, so we felt well looked after the whole meal.
Gungmin Hanwoo House menu and prices

The restaurant serves only carefully selected 1++ and 1+ hanwoo, and they say they trim away all the outer fat and saturated fat. Apparently lower-grade hanwoo with a high ratio of lean meat gets tough quickly, but here the grade is high so it's great grilled over charcoal, which got me really excited haha
To try a variety of cuts, we ordered a mixed platter plus dessert-style meal dishes.
- Premium Mixed Platter (400g): ₩92,000
- Nurungji (scorched rice soup): ₩6,000
- Hamheung-style cold noodles (dessert dish): ₩6,000
What's in the 400g Premium Mixed Platter, and how does it taste?

The Premium Mixed Platter (400g) is generously made up of tenderloin, snowflake sirloin (seolhwa deungsim), premium sirloin and whole rib meat.

The meat looked so good! The tenderloin came with a light coating of olive oil on the surface so it would stick to the grill grate nicely, and you could feel the owner's thoughtful touch~~

The side dishes (banchan) that come with it were all neat and well made, just right to go with the meat.

Grilling the meat over the hot charcoal brazier, I could hardly believe this quality and quantity at this price. The value was excellent.

The best cut: snowflake sirloin
The juiciness was crazy and every cut had a different texture, but my personal favorite was the snowflake sirloin! It really melted the moment it went into my mouth haha

The premium sirloin and whole rib meat were delicious too~ And the spicy seasoned lettuce banchan, eaten in between, cut right through the richness, so the meat just kept going down!
Nurungji and Hamheung-style cold noodles: how big are the portions?

After grilling and enjoying the meat, we finished with nurungji (scorched rice soup, ₩6,000) and Hamheung-style cold noodles (mul naengmyeon, ₩6,000). Even though we ordered them as dessert dishes, the portions were big and generous like a proper meal, so we left full to the very end!
The icy cold noodle broth, with bits of slush floating in it, was really refreshing and felt like it wiped away all the grease. The noodles were thin and chewy, and tasty too!

The nurungji portion was really big, and its toasty flavor was just right to end the meal. It's a beef restaurant with great taste and great value, so if you're looking for a group dinner spot or a BBQ place near Samseong Station, definitely give Gungmin Hanwoo House Samseong Station branch a visit!
