Why I chose volume magic for my frizzy bob at Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch

My hair is a frizzy, wavy bob, so I went to Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch (유메즈헤어 천호점) for a bob volume magic perm. A bob needs regular upkeep, and on top of that my hair is so wavy-frizzy that when the humidity rises it gets insanely poofy and I end up looking like I'm wearing a helmet T_T haha. Hours are Mon–Fri open at 10:00, close at 21:00; Sat open at 9:30, close at 20:00; Sun open at 10:00, close at 22:00. The hours are generous, so you can even visit after work!

When you ride the elevator up, you'll see the pretty Yume's Hair on your left.

The salon has a clean white-toned interior and a lovely view of greenery through big windows. It's also very spacious and divided into sections, so you don't overlap much with other customers and can get your treatment in comfort, which I loved.

The shampoo area is tidy and cozy too. I booked the volume magic with a designer before visiting. The staff are super kind and pretty!

This is my hair before the volume magic. Peak frizz, haha. And this is after slathering on tons of oil to calm it down as much as I could. With thick hair that's also wavy-frizzy, in humid weather like lately it's basically a wet dog, sob.

How the bob volume magic goes, step by step

At Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch, the volume magic starts with applying the solution, then a cut, then straightening with a flat iron, then a neutralizing step. They start with a shampoo, and wow, it felt so refreshing haha. After the shampoo and solution, it was relaxed coffee time! They gave me an iced Americano and snacks, so my mouth was never bored.

The cut matters most for a bob, and my designer was fast and cut with confident, bold strokes! I hear Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch is also famous as the go-to Cheonho salon for layered cuts, so next time I might grow my hair out a bit and try one.

I've become a bob addict, so the moment my hair is long enough to tie up, I can't stand it haha. A clean cut to finish!

Adding volume and finishing with a C-curl

Two stylists worked together, adding plump volume, straightening it out, and putting a slight C-curl in the ends.

Both are super fast yet very meticulous, so the volume magic came out so pretty.

Neutralizing and the final shampoo

They applied the neutralizer generously and thoroughly. The final shampoo was done by a female stylist, and wow, her hands are seriously strong. The finishing massage was pure heaven, so refreshing that I wanted to shout for an encore haha

Volume magic results and how to blow-dry at home

With the bob volume magic from Yume's Hair Cheonho Branch, my dying wet-dog hair was reborn as glossy, volumized hair! A subtle C-curl at the ends keeps it from flaring out and looking neat, and I absolutely love it.

Drying isn't hard at all. Dry it casually, then just finish by drying from back to front, so it's really easy!
